When stacked, are they set in one place like with grooves on the top and bottom or some thing or if the wind blows will they slide off of each other?

The boxes are smooth on the top and have only small bumps on the bottom corners. They are not made to stack or nest. They are nice sized little boxes and seem well made.

Will a regular deck of playing cards fit inside?

I don't think the boxes are quite large enough to fit playing cards. The dimensions given are outside dimensions.

Will this for a crayon

Crayons are a little too long for this container but you can fit about 8 of them at an angle. A longer case would probably be a better option for crayons.
