After researching the reviews I decided on this product primarily for the battery life. The reviews for the app were mixed but I never had a problem. I added it in the FAA registration to the drone and it feels good to be legal

I was not able to pair the remote id module with my Pixel 9 phone (which is about as standard Android as you can get). I reached out to Holy Stone Tech Support (via Amazon) and they were saying that the version of Android that I have on my phone (Android 16) is too new. It's been in general release for 9 months.I later found a comment on the Google Play store that "The app isn't compatible with Pixels for some reason...". This makes no sense.I've given up on Tech Support and have returned the module for a refund.

Holy stone RIDThis my review of the Remote ID (RID) module from Holy Stone. First of all I was amazed how inexpensive this unit is compared to the competition. Units from companies such as Dronetag range anywhere from $150 to $300. This module retails on Amazon for $89, a substantial savings. I am sure if you contact customer service they can provide a coupon code to use when ordering on Amazon.The unit arrives in a small box about the size of a 3x5 card. In the box you will find the unit, velcro for attaching to the drone, and instruction manual for programming the module. You will need a usb-c cable as one is not included in the box.The instructions made it easy to set up.It even includes pictures on where to place the unit on the drone. Even though it was designed for 6 different models of Holy Stone drones it can be used on “other” drones.Testing the broadcasting of the unit became an issue. Using an app called Drone Scanner I was not able to detect the drone. I believe this is not so much the fault of the module but the limited capabilities of iOS operating system and the age of my phone(iPhone 11).For the size, ease of use, and programming I give it 5 stars.

Can not be set up without a smartphone...there's no PC software for this module.

My 11 yr old ALWAYS wants remote control planes and cars. Time after time I spend hours reading reviews and try to get him something that won't disappoint him....NOTHING has lasted more than a couple weeks and even at that nothing that flies has ever been able to be controlled even by the adults. This time HE read reviews and searched and came to me with this drone, wanting to spend money that he had earned for it. I was very hesitant as I didn't want to see him waste his money and be disappointed yet again. Well....the thing came and it's perfect for him. He can completely control it. It never flies out of control and he can land it on a dime. It's perfect for him! I had to help him a little bit with setting up the app on his phone but it wasn't difficult.
