Black+Decker TOD1770G 4-Slice Natural Convection Digital Toaster Oven, Silver, 15.3" x 9.8" x 7"

We have come to rely on Black and Decker for products that are reliable and reasonably priced. This one is no exception. Listen: all toasters scorch the edges of bread on occasion - guess it is a rule of the universe. Mostly this one doesn't. We use it primarily for toast in the morning - four pieces works OK. The control is sensitive, requiring just a light touch and is far from intuitive. We set it on "4" and get the coffee going and usually are not disappointed.

Easy to use! We bought it for our camper. We have a cooktop but no oven. It’s small enough to store and just large enough to get the job done! Perfect for breakfast biscuits! Great product! Well made.

I like the way the controls are designed (clear and easy to use), and that there is an on/off button. Our previous oven had a great feature of a door that opened up and over the top (not down onto the counter, which saved space and kept it cleaner) but the way you shut it off was to force the timer knob back to zero, which my husband did not like, and it also stopped working after about 1 year.This is a compact, evenly-heating oven, which appears to be well made, but at the time of this review I cannot speak to its longevity. As far as I can tell there is only 1 position for the rack, whereas my previous toaster oven had two.I would recommend the oven because for the price it is a small yet solid choice. The model I purchased has a semi-matte silver/charcoal finish (not brushed except for the door handle) with shiny chrome-colored plastic knobs and black accents. I've had it for about 2 months and it is easy to keep clean (I typically line the bottom of my toaster ovens with foil either way), and works for my family's needs.

Hated my previous toaster, this one is great. Most cost effective Digital toaster oven I could find and I am quite happy with it. Well made, easy to use, works well. I recommend it.

Takes too long to cook food and the writing under the dials should have a magnifying glass and light mounted over it. Would not buy again. Giving this thing away.

I got this because it is small and fits in the space I have in a cabinet. I searched all over for an alternative that was of similar size and didn't find anything better than this model.However, this oven is very inconsistent. It makes the first batch of toast OK, but subsequent batches made at the same settings are burned. Every time. I have to make subsequent batches at a much lower setting. I am guessing that this is because the oven starts cold on the first batch, but is already hot for subsequent batches. You would think Black and Decker (who have been making toaster ovens for decades) could figure out how to compensate for this.Other things of note:1. the unit is not stainless. it is just painted gray. Not terrible, but not what I was expecting (I do note that they no longer advertise it as "stainless" and now say "grey").2. the outside of this oven gets VERY hot. Zero insulation. OK for adults, scary around kids.3. This model is much better than the similar model with manual (not digital) controls. the manual control model is a disaster.

This is the best toaster oven I've ever owned. The electronic control is a major improvement and allows excellent temperature control for both toasting and warming. This is probably my third B&D toaster oven over the years and the best so far. Love it.

I am a glass half full reviewer but this item is really bad. I bought this to replace my old black and decker that I had for ten years. I wanted another small one that wasn't shiny silver so I randomly chose this one.Where do I start.The guy who left a review yelling in all caps about his toast being dehydrated was completely right. This sucked all of the moisture out of my freshly baked bread. I threw the bread in the trash after two bites.The drip tray is the worst design ever. It doesn't pull out flat, you have to tilt it backwards to pull it out so all the crumbs slide off it and right down into the bottom of the oven!There is only one slot for the rack so no adjustments for larger items. This is a very small oven so you do not have much clearance space and will be very limited as to what can go in there.The size is greatly exaggerated. It says it holds 4 slices of bread. If they are not shiveled wonderbread slices then you are not getting 4 pieces in there. Mine barely fit two slices as in the photo. And the manual is clear that nothing should be in the very middle of the oven or it won't toast correctly so you can't jam them together to fit.I just can't believe a brand new toaster oven in this day and age no matter poorly built would destroy a slice of fresh bread. I don't care how much it costs to send back I will just for the principle of it.
