Robust and reliable
Discovering this drill driver has been a revelation in my DIY projects. Its brushless motor delivers robust performance, making tasks easier. The compact design is a significant advantage, allowing me to work in confined spaces comfortably. The battery compatibility across the Bosch Professional 18V System and AMPShare is a beneficial feature.

Great entry kit to the range
With lots of projects underway I was looking for a new combi drill with more power for some tougher jobs in brickwork and plaster for the combi. I have never been loyal to any particular brand and have a few different kits for different brands depending on what’s on offer. I have been using Bosch blades and drill bits for a long time now as they have been the longest lasting and hardest wearing so was happy to try some of their 18v systems. This cordless kit isn’t cheap but compared to the other professional grade tools I have used it packs a punch. At the time of review this is £250 and although more expensive than comparable drills, it’s a great way to get into the Bosch ecosystem with the batteries and charger. This coupled with some body only kits offers much more powerful tools. The combi has the usual hammer, drill and screw options with an easy to change mechanism on top. The biggest advantage I have found with this is the light on the base so I can always see the wall without a shadow where I’m drilling. The batteries are much smaller than others and also lighter but have the same amount of power and this kit includes plenty to drill continuously as they recharge in about 15 minutes. As a professional tool this is built extremely well and it is well balanced with hard rubber around it to protect the case. The box it comes in is stackable without clips to join them which is nice for it to stack. Otherwise this to me is a great investment and has so far performed much better than my green and yellow ones. I would say it’s a good value for money.

Sturdy and powerful
Pros:- High powered performance & a trusted brand- Includes 3 batteries so that you can use it for longer- Includes carry caseCons:- Expensive (currently £273.59)- Doesn’t include any drill bitsOverall rating: 4.5 StarsConclusion: This is a sturdy drill it is certainly more powerful than the none brand drill I’ve now replaced. It is easy to use, I love that it comes with 3 batteries and a carry case to keep everything together. This is very convenient. I would happily recommend this drill however, it is quite pricey.

Blue Bosch, happy user?
If you are familiar with power tools, you will have at least encountered the reputation of "Blue Bosch", and my first reaction was, does Blue Bosch really need a new from-the-box review?Blue Bosch refers to the distinctive blue casing with red accents; green Bosch was introduced as a lower price point power tool range aimed at home users with the rise of DIY.Blue is then marketed as a professional tool. The difference?Well, a hobbyist might use their power tools for a few hours at the weekend, whereas a tradesperson will use their tools for at least a few hours every working day.Blue Bosch is more expensive, and that price tag is merited, built on a solid reputation, and you expect the tool will be well made and work well for longer and harder, taking the hammer that professional tools must endure. This two-speed 18V electric battery impact drill driver is powerful for its weight (45 Nm and rotational speed of 1,900 rpm). Primary functions are familiar: a standard sliding switch at the trigger gives a clockwise and anticlockwise direction, and a dial at the chuck spins to select torque settings. However, there is a second dial to set screw, drill, or hammer drill modes. The usual switch to the top selects speed. This set comes with three standard 4Ah Bosch batteries and a charger. A quick search on Amazon shows these batteries for sale at around £50 each. There is also a carry case. The tool is good to use; the trigger response is nicely graduated, and that this works well should be a given at this price point. The question that a helpful review would answer is, will this still work in the medium to long term? But that longevity test is beyond the scope of a new from-the-box review. So, in conclusion, all I can reasonably offer is that looking at reviews for similar Bosch products, the reputation for build quality is justified.

Always Bosch
This is miles ahead of the GMC cordless drill I have and the Black and Decker one I had before that. I've never regretted paying a little more for Bosch products and this would be exactly the same. The build quality is great, everything feels solid and well engineered. The metal chuck provides durability and the brushless motor should precisely the problem I have with my current drill which is on its last legs. Having three batteries is fantastic but it's the power of the batteries that really makes the difference. Some cordless drills lack power when it comes to those tougher jobs but this drill packs a punch. The pricing has changed an awful lot since I ordered this and came to write the review, dropping by over £75. Its current price seems about right to me, but as I say, I'd always happily pay more for products that I know will do the job and keep doing it for years to come.
