Q: Why are there many scratches and holes?

I purchased this foam and it did not have any scratches or holes. I would say the piece you received is defective.

Q: Are they suitable for cosplay or craft?

unsuited. Very uncomfortable feeling

Q: Is this product Paintable?

Yes. I hear sealed it with a heat gun. I then used black grease to seal the foam as well. Then printed the foam. You can you a brush or airbrush, but not spray paint.
