The birds started flocking to the feeders as soon as they were put up. One type, a house finch, I hadn't really noticed around before. They are very sturdy and well made.

It holds a lot of seed. Squirrels struggle to eat from it, but if you know the rascals, they get some seed, but not as much as other feeders I’ve used. Cardinals will eat from it.

I already had one of these and love it! Decided to get another one, after it became so popular with the birds. Plus, I don't have to fill it every day, like I did with the smaller ones I had.Large overhang of roof should help keep seed dry. Large opening allows easy filling and it holds plenty. Birds frequent it and not a lot of waste from seed falling out so spend less in seed.Plus, the hanging feature makes it easy to place anywhere I want. It's been a real delight to observe the birds up close and create a peaceful and harmonious environment in my backyard. All in all very happy with my purchase will make an excellent gift also.

Another Update:Less than 6 months from purchase, this is now trash. The squirrels worked at the weak points described below, and now the seed just pours from the openings.Update:Within a couple weeks, one of the straight perches fell off. This was also the fastener for the bottom of that port, so a squirrel has started to pry the port away from the mesh to get at the seed. It's only a matter of time before that port is gone completely.Original review:Some of the photos appear to be a metallic finish; it is not. The top and bottom are painted a copper color - - a glossy but non-metallic finish.This design uses a central rod that makes the feeder very durable. I was hoping to replace a metallic copper feeder of the same design; I wore the old one out after years of use. I wish I had returned this before using it, because it just isn't as attractive as real (metallic) copper.

Really nice product . The birds seem to love it! Just got to figure out how to keep squirrels from getting to bird food. !

The perches at the 3 openings were not well secured and 2 of the 3 fell off. Also the plastic washer to help secure the lid was not attached and was so tiny, it fell off and disappeared in the grass below.

Haven’t owned this feeder very long, but pretty much right away (of course after the 30 day return window) the top rusted and the feeding landing sticks fell off (all but one). Still looks good enough to keep, but didn’t hold up to the So Cal elements I guess. Kind of disappointing for an outdoor item.

Yes it is metal... Cheap but metal. The finished on top is not good for that price.Are you better with a good quality plastic? Good question. I've just fill it, the ring that holds it just open under under my finger. Now it just hanging, will see. I find that you don't have for your money.

Durability will become known in the future. Bought this feeder to replace one that did not last. Birds are getting used to it and mornings have become more cheerful with song.
