I purchased these back in October, waited for winter to be over and put them up in March, it’s now mid May and they don’t work and have not for a week or so. Glad that SPV lights say they have a 3 year warranty, just got to find out the process to claim a refund…let’s try the Amazon route first eh…

Easily set up.

We wanted solar lights to be more environmentally friendly but these have been disappointing compared with previous ones. They have to be regularly charged up, which is a useful feature, but a nuisance. We expected that it might have been necessary as they got older but not from new. According to the specifications, daylight should be adequate to recharge.

These are cheap and cheerful. We wanted outdoor solar powered lights and although we stuck with this, they didn’t always work. There is a charging facility which is probably the best way to ensure they work. These are made in China, like most Christmas decorations nowadays. I tried to find British made to no avail.......

They work really well

I've purchased loads of solar lights in the past and, in my experience, you're lucky to get a year out the cheaper ones. I wouldn't consider these lights "cheap" and expected quality. They certainly look the part and worked well for a while. I've read some of the reviews and replies on here and they made me smile because they're so patronising! I think most people are aware that solar lights need LIGHT in order to charge the battery! Yes, the panel was in the sunniest part of the garden! I have other strings of lights (by another brand) and these are designed to work in DAYlight (and do so all year round) but these, I understand, need SUNlight so I didn't expect much of them through winter. However, it's not a charging issue - some of the bulbs light (very few) and some randomly don't (about 70%). My advice is either save your pennies and invest in a brand designed for UK climate or buy these and expect to have to replace them every year.
