An excellent phablet.
If you are looking for a high spec Phablet (phone tablet hybrid) without paying a fortune to a network provider – I reckon this is it. There are lots of phones coming from lesser known Chinese manufacturers that borrow ideas from the big names but don’t charge a big price. We as the consumers are the winners - as this phone proves. I have 14 years experience working in the Telecommunications industry and this phone has really impressed me.The 6 inch 2K bezel-less display looked amazing straight from the box and it blew me away when it was powered on. Gorilla glass 4 protects front 92% of the phone- that is the screen. Despite its size I thought it would be heavier however I don’t like overly light phones as they feel plasicy and cheap in my opinion. The back has this 3D effect and is curved glass. I thought it a bit overly ‘mirror finish’ but with the silicone back on it shows through just enough to look bright and attractive. I don’t know if this was deliberate or not but it works for me.It uses the Mediatek Helio x25 which itself is getting good reviews and I think is giving the likes of Snapdragon some work to do.The fingerprint recognition is by far the best I have used, it is fast and it works first time. Both cameras are Sony made – the fact that Sony has a great reputation in photography and with cameras I find very reassuring. This phone doesn’t just look good, it has some serious technology behind it and well thought out design. This phone keeps on surprising you with new things you didn’t know were there. (DuraSpeed, ClearMotion, Navigation bar) So it’s worth reading up or at least Googling some Tips and Tricks.I have made a short video to show you the display and I have tried not to waffle. Hope it helps.I really, really like this phone.

STAY AWAY
Please for god's sake do not buy this phone. The battery life is terrible, on full charge with constant use lasts about 50 mins. The battery indicator constantly freezes so you'll think you have 12% left then it will suddenly die. The REAR VIEW CAMERA DOESN'T WORK, I thought I could possibly get it fixed so I didn't send it back immediately (one of the worst decions I've ever made), today the front facing camera died and I've just found out that it cannot be fixed. I've only had the phone for a month and a bit. Oh yeah and the battery frequently reaches 52°c. I would've rather thrown my hard earned £200 into a bin in the hope that it made someone else's day. I simply cannot believe how the manufacturers thought they could sell this for £550 let alone what they're asking for it now

Initially happy with phone....
Started off great, love the screen and speed of the phone.Had it two months and now battery will only charge to 80 percent no matter how long connected. USB amp meter shows it drops to 0.10amps. Now got to go the hassle of contacting Amazon, returning and setting up a new phone again .

Don't go Elephone. It's just not worth the grief.
I don't have an S8. I'm sure it's a good phone from a hardware perspective. I bought an Elephone 9000, which is great as far as hardware goes. It's the software/OS you'll have problems with if you go with Elephone. They spend almost nothing on releasing Android updates, security patches etc. The few updates they do release will be bugged beyond belief. With my Elephone, I had the following problems "out of the box":* NFC didn't work;* Not able to make emergency calls to 999 or 112 ('m not joking - this has been raised on the Elephone forum, but no responses);* Not compatible with Google Pay (and never will be);* Not supported by Banking Apps, as the ROM registered as Rooted (it wasn't, and never had been);I applied an elephone supplied update ROM, which fixed issues 1) and 4), but introduced others. If you go for an Elephone, you will have to be prepared to Flash your phone with new ROMs, and do it manually (Elephone broke the auto-update process on their 9000 model with their 3rd update ROM.)Ignore any online reviews for the S8 which just look at features, and don't actually *use* the phone long term. Better still, have a look at the Elephone forums themselves. Check out the issues Elephone users are having to put up with.bbs.elephone.hk/forum.php#.WumfyfnwZphRather than save money buying a cheap Elephone (as I did), buy a phone from a better manufacturer for the cost of your Elephone + £100. You'll be saving money in the long run, as your Elephone will likely end up bricked due to bad ROM updates before long anyway. Mine lasted 2 days until I found out about the 999 issue.

good but could have been better for price .
border less screen is not entirely that but viewing videos is a pleasure. camera is not the best and i am not a fan of the lack of a headphone jack or no microsd support. it would have been a much better valued product with the inclusion of these 2 glaring omissions. i got the red one and it looks beautiful but this thing is a fingerprint magnet and within minutes the back and front of this thing was smeared rotten. battery is not as good as i expected but i did get a full day out of it based on average/medium usage. overall its a good phone and performs well but lack of headphone jack, microsd support and poor camera are deal breakers for me.............sent it back! expected a lot more than i got for this price point.
