... buy most of my comics based off if I like the art
I buy most of my comics based off if I like the art. I don't really read descriptions. Sometimes this leads me to incredible finds like Megg, Mogg and Owl. Other times, it leads me to comics like this. I didn't like this book. I read it shortly after I bought it, and i couldn't tell you any of the stories in it aside from some 20 year old dude dating an underage girl. I'll probably never read this book again.

Noah Van Sciver is an under appreciated cartoonist of incredible old school talent. While he's able to make his work today in the comics market, and be known and admired in the smaller class of indie comics, he is of a different generation, and had he been doing this work in the 60's and 70's, he'd be up there with all the alt comics greats. He's the quiet Crumb of our time.

Noah is one cartoonist who gets better with each story and can make you laugh as well as put the drama across with equal skill. This collection of stories is annotated by the artist and gives important personal insights on each story as well as on his artistic growth. I give this my highest reccomendation and urge readers to seek out his other work.

I am disappointed in this book. I don't care for the scratchy penwork art. The stories are a mixed bag, of his life experiences. Some stories are ok, others seem cruel and come jutting out of his mind like he's gone ding dong. He says, "Youth is Wasted", well my money is wasted, buying this book!
