This doest fit the elgato wave 3? Why not? I assumed the "adapter" could be removed but its not budging? Meaning its not an adapter at all?

The Elgato Wave 3 comes with a 5/8" female to 1/4" male boom arm adapter. With it, your mic will be compatible with the mic stand's thread size. 1) Unscrew the Wave desktop stand from the Wave microphone. 2) Screw on Boom Arm Adapter to the microphone arm. 3) Screw U-mount and your Wave microphone to the microphone arm.

Does this work with the fifine k688?

The thread hole size of K688 shock mount is 5/8", which is compatible with the mic stand's thread size. But you may need to check if your K688 shock mount is preinstalled with a 5/8" to 3/8" adapter. If that's the case, you must unscrew the preinstalled adapter before connecting the boom arm to K688.

Does this work with the Blue Yeti Nano??

The stand can work with your Blue Yeti Nano if you have kept the 5/8" female to 1/4" male adapter coming with the mic. Please note that the stand does not come with this adapter , which is necessary to fit the Blue Yeti Nano microphone.

Can I mount it upside down on a shelf above my desk?

No, it’d fall out of the mount.
