Mock The Week: Too Hot For TV Collection [DVD]

Better than Have I got news for you.
There was a time when the best panel comedy show about politics was Have I got News for you. However from the creators of Whose Line Is It Anyway? is the great Mock the Week.It is like a cross-breed of Have I got News for you and whose line it is anyway, but MTW is so much better than these two at its best combined. The DVD gives you the twenty best bits that are unedited and unseen on BBC2. They also give us three extended cuts of the best episodes in their recent series (Late 2007.) There are five comedians that are regular panelists. They are Dara O,Briain who is the marvollous presenter, Hugh Dennis who is funny especially at making voices, andy Parsons who is funny when he gets going and Russell Howard the cheeky Bristolian who is great at making animal jokes but can be a bit slow. Yet the star of the show really does shine and that is the scottish comedian Frankie Boyle who is politically incorrect but very hilarious in doing so. There are two other comedians that appear on this show which are not regulars. These include David Mitchell, Jo Caulfield and Ed Byrne. However the DVD does feel short and I would have prefered a complete series on boxset than the best of. Also if you are not very tolerant of bad language then this is definetly not for you. I do hasten to add though that this is well worth your money as this genuinely guarantees laughs.

If you like Mock the Week (and if you don't then you've obviously had a humour bypass) then you will love this. The only gripe I have with it is that it isn't 10 ten times longer, but at the ridiculously cheap price even that is a selfish whinge. To the watchers of Mock the Week I say, buy it. To the makers of Mock the Week I say (beg, plead) make more, and release all the old episodes of DVD, PLEASE!

Witty & Hilarious
Mock the week is by far one of the funniest panel shows around. Franky Boyle with his Obnoxious comments about Celebrities & politicians is enough for some 1 to wet themselves!I loved the one "What does G.B.T.C Stand for?2Is it Gordon Brown Touching Cloth"? Ha brilliant! Also, if your a Dara O Briain fan his other Irish show "The Panel" is quite goo too(not as witty as Mock the week though!), type in "The Panel into youtube : )

First review by someone who has WATCHED the dvd
If U love Mock the Week then this is for you, it is incredibly funny and shows alot of material which wasn't broadcast. Including previews of them getting ready before filming and different lines of jokes.Dont be put off by the 18+ certificate, it just contains some swearing and sexual references, nothing too hardcore either unless you live in fear of the words fu*k andr c*nt.

Hillarious, It's a shame Frankie Boyle is no longer on the show as he made it for me.

Couldn't stop laughing
I wasnt sure whether to buy this as I thought after I watched it once the jokes would get old and wouldnt be as funny. I've watched it 3 times and couldnt stop laughing. I havent seen all the episodes on TV so there was a lot that was new to me. Well worth the money.

Mock the Week - not good enough for TV?
I hate to admit it but I am a great fan of Mock the Week.I think it is very funny, up to the minute satire that it is not only laugh out loud but intelligent. That is the TV series anyway - the DVD is still funny in some places but generally it consists of expanded versions of the same jole that start to wear thin very quickly.Where the TV series is intelligent the DVD seems to consist of the presenters starting their answers by saying this won't get shown and then trying to swear as much as possible - I have no probem with swearing as I do it constantly myself but this becomes tiresome and again lacks humour. It was worth the £3-4 paid but on the whole I think I would have been better recording it off the TV - where it is funnier!
