Acceptable Replacement
Samsung Original at top of Photo, Replacement purchased at bottom. Longevity: Only time will tell on this grading of the part, however that is dependent on many factors, many out of the manufactures control. Quality: Original element wire diameter 0.042", Replacement element 0.042", Insulators different shape but provide adequate standoff and support, Mounting frame: Original has larger openings than Replacement. Original element reads 14 Ohm, Replacement element reads 10 Ohm, insignificant difference. Ease of Installation: Totally dependent on installer preforming task. Took care to ensure skin oils did not touch Replacement element, not necessary just how I work. Verified all element parts did not touch any of the mounting bracket or heater housing components visually and with Ohm meter. During this install the dryer was completely disassembled from the front and all lint components vacuumed, wiped and blown clean, vent hoses cleaned or replaced, regular maintenance preformed every 12-18 months in this dryer. Price: OEM from several locations ~ $80-120 This unit under $25. Initial Use: Element will have an odor during the first use, even in a completely cleaned heater housing. This time it lasted about 15 minutes during a test phase with no clothes in dryer and element heat set to medium. Shipment guarantee made by AMAZON - Not Met, Since shipping included in price with Prime, I have, nor desire any recourse. Overall: Considering the large price difference from OEM to this replacement and reasonable visual similarity of components, if life of element turns out to 12-24 months in an already 8 year old machine and this is the first heat element exchange, my experience says that is a fair exchange of $$$'s to function.

Perfect fit, works fine, much cheaper than OEM part
Quality part, nicely put together. Works fine. We had a near catastrophic failure of the old element (see picture) which overheated and welded itself to the frame of the cover. Because the frame is grounded, this bypassed the thermostat and kept the element on the whole time the dryer was running. You can see how burnt the metal frame is on the old heating element. When I took it apart there was a LOT of burnt lint, a dryer fire waiting to happen. New, clean unit is in the first picture. Works perfectly. Not hard for a regular handy man to fix. Lots of youtube videos.

Worked as good as the original Samsung Element for the dryer.
LIterally had to replace this part on our Samsung almost every 2-3 years since we bought it. I wouldn't recommend a Samsung product ever again. This dryer element always ships pretty fast and was easily replaced... My husband is a pro at this point but had no experience installing one before and didn't have a ton of trouble.

A real money saver for someone who's handy, and has access to you tube.
Was a little concerned about some reviews I read that said the thing died within a week or two but ordered one anyway because the wife wanted her dryer fixed. Really pretty easy to install, thanks to Youtube. Had it in and working in about 45 minutes. 4 months later it is still going strong. I am very happy with it. Saved us the cost of a repair mans visit, or the cost of buying a new dryer. Also gave me the chance to really clean the dryer too. Got a large amount of lint cleaned out of the old machine.

One hour and less than $20 and we have our dryer working again. But... it died 2 years later.
UPDATE: Died after 2 years. Bargain price for a solid part. Bit of a fuss to take the dryer apart, but not bad. See Youtube for how-to. We found a video that was not only very helpful, but good for some laughs. It's a shame Samsung doesn't design the parts to last more than a couple of years and it's also a shame they don't make it much easier to access & replace this part that is known to be most likely part to fail over time. We already replaced the matching Samsung washer with a simpler GE model that just works. Note that there is a slight odor when it heats up the first time, which is to be expected.

Excellent replacement on my Samsung dryer
After more than ten years of use, the original factory heating element went out on my Samsung dryer. After a couple of quick YouTube videos for guidance, I was sure that I could replace this myself and save a lot of money on repair. There are, apparently, a lot of cheap dryer elements out there as well as a lot of ridiculously expensive ones (looking at you, Samsung). I decided to give one of the decently priced elements a try. After reading several awful reviews about replaced elements going bad instantly, I had the impression that someone might have touched the wire and left oil/dirt -- or, perhaps got in a hurry to reassemble and shorted the element to the chassis. With those thoughts in mind, I thoroughly cleaned all of the guts of the dryer with a vacuum, followed by a damp rag. I used gloves to handle the element, and I carefully checked electrical resistance of the element to the chassis with my multimeter several times. I'm not sure if that's the only difference between my review and others, but I can say that the replacement has been working perfectly for over two months. Be aware, there's always some smelly burn-off on new heating elements. Run the empty dryer for a few minutes to make sure the burn off is gone before you throw clothes in.

Perfect replacement
We have a Samsung dryer that is 5-6 years old, which is about all the life you get from this heating element. I found out how to disassemble the dryer on Youtube, and once I figured out the clips on the top, getting into the heater is straightforward. Maneuvering the old one out and the new one in is tricky (really tight fit), but once you get it into the right position, everything went back together like clockwork. We have only been using it for about a month so I cannot yet comment on longevity, but so far, so good! Can't go wrong with this baby.

Cheap fix but not a quality fix
Works for a year and then dies (I'vedone this twice already). This cheap fix isnt worth the trouble after the third repair. Especially once it starts to die and the drier only has high heat option. I'll buy the OEM part and save the trouble.

Lousy material
What a major disappointment. Thankfully I have experience installing these heater elements and I saved my self several hundreds of dollars not having to call in a service tech, but this element was made from 3rd grade material. It only lasted 4 days before it failed. I wouldn't buy this again!
