Good training or touring tyre but with limitations
I have a carbon fibre road bike and ride for fitness and not for commuting and I am a fairly aggressive rider. I have ridden over 500 miles on a pair of these tyres with only 2 punctures. If you are willing to compromise on ride comfort and still want a fairly fast and grippy race tyre for training, or a generally robust touring tyre then I can recommend the Gator Hardshell. Pros Does seem to reduce the likelihood of punctures from stone chippings and thorns etc. A fairly fast tyre but not as fast as a softer road tyre. Pretty grippy in dry and wet conditions, although a softer race tyre is generally better. Good value long distance touring tyre. Cons Very difficult to fit an inner tube. If you do get a puncture then it is difficult to fit a new tube. Something you would only want to do in the comfort of your own garage or on a nice summer's day. Not recommended as a competition tyre. Slightly harder ride than a normal race tyre Heavier than a race tyre. Expensive training tyre.

Im guessing these are the last tires I will ever need. Well, Not really. I use my bike a lot. But these have stayed fresh and sturdy for a much longer time than other tires I have had. I ride a lot in wet weather, and although I don't know a ton about bike tires, these do a great job of gripping the wet pavement! I will definitely buy again when I desperately need to.

I had multiple cheaper 25c tires and they were out of a soft rubber that caused debris to stick to it and then eventually work it's way through the anti puncture kevlar. With this tire there is no issue. Debris does not easily puncture the rubber and it's very good overall.

Best bike tires I've ever had. I live in New Orleans and the roads here are a scene from a craggy hellscape. I thought LA was bad, little did I realize that there was a city in America with roads like this: constant road construction, rocks everywhere, and deep potholes that people fill with beads. These tires are a lifesaver and I haven't gotten a single flat since I've had them. Well worth the extra money.

I've had this tire on my back wheel for about six weeks now and have gotten my first flat. The one inch nail went through the tire from off-center, just at the edege of the mr tuffy, and killed my tube. I'm also finding that this tire is really hard to get on. (It's more like a 690c than a 700c!) Some flats are just unavoidable, so I'm philosophical about it. But I expected better from this tire. I wouldn't buy another. Update Nov/11/2013 - second flat in two months. *sigh* Update Nov/14/2013 - the tube is poking through the sidewall of the tire. And now it's flat again. What sort of crappy tire is this, whose sidewall ruptures after two months of use and less than 300 miles???? Replacing with something not from Continental.

This appears to be a durable long lasting tire which is what I was hoping for. I ordered 700X25 folding, but wish now that I would've purchased a 700X28 because it seems to be a lot narrower than the tire that it replaced (700X25 folding). The other issue was the description stated that these were the Kevlar beaded folding tires, but I was sent wire beaded tires. I mounted these rather than returning them because my old tire had a slash in it and I needed a new tire for the ride this weekend. Update: On my third ride with these tires I got a puncture. The bead on these tires are unbelievably tight. I was thinking that my tire irons were going to break while attempting to remove the bead. About the puncture, ... not the tires' fault, I ran over a metal staple.
