I used this for 160’ of railing. The cable was perfect for this purpose. The 3/16” 1X9 configuration is a little stiffer than others and worked out really well as you can see on the picture. The one thing I really liked is that there’s very little stretching during the installation so you cut the cable where you need it to be once the dome nut is installed on the terminal fitting. You really don’t need to torque the crap out of the nut to achieve the right tension in the cable. It also looks good.

I’m a carpenter and do a lot of cable railing systems. What I like about this particular cable vs others is that it’s single strand. There are maybe 8-10 solid strands that twist around to make the complete 1/8” cable. I have bought other brands where each substatand is made of 50-100 tiny wires. I feel like this style of cable will hold up better over time. Even stainless steel rusts eventually. This is now my go to.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Nice cable at a good price. The 19X1 strands are pretty stiff and strong, but plenty flexible enough to bend with a transition from level to angled for stairs. Very tough to cut - do yourself a favor and spend the extra money for a quality cable cutter like Knipex. Also, don't order a length that is too close to what you expect to need. The job is a lot easier if you have excess cable to sacrifice while cutting and pulling it.

should be a zero star, within 60 days cable started rusting and staining. VEVOR said this is normal for a coastal climate ??? I have had T316 cables on a sailboat for years prior to any staining, this was on a handrail for a home on the coast. should not ever rust. VELOR response I need to do better maintenance. Cable is also very magnetic, T316 has very little magnetism, obvious lie on the actual steel type GARBAGE PRODUCT AND WORTHLESS CUSTOMER SERVICE
