Chef's Planet 16-ounce All-purpose Cruet
It is a very elegant design, and works well with some caveats. The ground glass area of the spout is a great fit, and beats having a silicone (or other) gasket to hold the spout in. The opening of the spout is fairly small, a little over 4 mm. For my salad dressing, I grind spices in a mortar to make sure that they will pass, and I mince soft veggies (like bell pepper) finely for the same reason. You will have to find the correct size for yourself, but I am sure that you will discover this after one test. Though the container is listed as 16 oz (~500 mL), I find that it works best for my salad dressings if I fill it half full, because oil and vinegar dressings tend to separate, and must be mixed. Because there is no "stopper" in this cruet, I find that I can't shake it to mix the salad dressing, I must swirl it. That works best if it is half full or so. The glass /seems/ fragile, but I have had it now about 2 months of regular use, and I have not broken it, despite being a bit of the bull in a china shop at times. It works fine olive oil and vinegar. I noted one review that commented on using it for liquid soap, which is quite thick. There is a small groove in the spout that allows air to go in as the liquid comes out, and if the liquid is too viscous, air can't get in quickly enough to effectively let the liquid out. A set of these, including a 16 oz for mixed dressings, especially if you make your own, and 2 smaller of similar design for vinegar and EVOO, are just the right touch for the table. Very elegant, easy to use, easy to clean.

Great Looks - holds a lot and doesn't drip - Case closed
Update 10/12/16: I am so much in love with this decanter that I am providing an update again. Last evening while washing it slipped from my hands in the kitchen sink because of the soap all over any my soapy hands and as I saw it falling - I knew it will smash into pieces but to my surprise - it did not. It was intact - not even a chip. May be I got lucky and got a very great quality product but I am a fan now. I am ordering other products from this brand.Update 10/8/15: Its been almost a year since I purchased it and its still intact. I have bumped it multiple times on my counter top. cabinet, with my pots/pans but it held on and is as beautiful as the day I purchased. For those who want to know - I use a bottle brush for cleaning and it shines like new. I am so glad I purchased it. I have never dropped it - so cant speak if it can stay intact when dropped ( I don't think it will - its glass not diamond)-------------------------------------------------Just Love it. It is a lot of money for an oil pourer but believe me its worth it. I have been through a lot of oil pourers and was never satisfied. Some broke, some will leak, some were opaque, some looked ugly. This one is a perfect combination. It holds enough oil, looks awesome on my kitchen shelf (Kinda ornamental) and the way the mouth is designed, it doesn't drip. The only negative I can think is that when you pour oil, if you are not careful you might end up pouring out a lot.P.S. - Although it looks fragile, but I have bumped it twice with my counter top and its still intact. Hopefully it stays that way.

Sturdy & Very functional
The product in real life looks exactly like the picture. It's a clear glass bottle with a clear glass stopper. There is no gasket -- the glass stopper fits perfectly into the bottle. A small indentation on the backside of the stopper allows air to come in while the oil pours out, and also allows any oil that drips down the pour spout to drain back into the bottle (meaning it is not "air tight" but that's not a big deal for most oils if you go through them regularly.)It's made out of "borosilicate" glass. The "other" name for borosilicate glass is "Pyrex" (but "Pyrex" is a brand name owned by Corning). In other words... though this looks like delicate glass that's easy to break, it actually will take a bit more shock than ordinarily glass without breaking (I'm sure if you hit it hard enough it would actually break -- but it's not as delicate as it looks.)I keep this next to my stove as I cook with olive oil regularly. The rate of oil drizzle is actually just about perfect. Fast enough that I don't feel like it's taking to long to drizzle oil into a pan, but slow enough that if I want to drizzle oil over foods (e.g. a light drizzle of EVOO over tomato & mozzarella caprese) I don't have problems controlling the flow. It's beautiful. It's functional. It doesn't drip. And though it's glass, it's actually fairly sturdy.30 oz (2 oz. shy of a quart) is a fair bit of oil if you don't use it regularly enough to go through it. The same company makes an 8 oz size (which looks like a flask) Chef's Planet 8-Ounce Glass Cruet and a 5 oz. size Chef's Planet 5-Ounce Glass Cruet probably more appropriate for table-top use.

No drips!
I've been using plastic squeeze bottles for my oils for many years, but finally got tired of the oil mess, even with a paper towel wrapped around the bottle. I've also used typical pour spouts and found them equally lacking. They always eventually get gummed up because oil does drip over the rim.A friend on Chowhound recommended this Chef's Planet cruet, and I'm glad she did. First, it's lovely. I'd happily bring it to my dining table. The glass is clear, bright and seems quite sturdy, despite it's delicate appearance. It've bumped it a few times and set it down rather abruptly on my stone counter, all with no ill effects. The glass spout fits snugly into the cruet but is still easy to remove for filling. That's a neat trick. But the real test is how well it pours, and how oil behaves when I stop pouring. It emits a thin steady stream of oil and is easy to use. When i tilt the cruet back upright, oil doesn't drip down the outside of the spout. When I need a larger amount of oil, I can easily remove the glass spout. How this thing doesn't fall out with normal use is a mystery, but it stays put.I like it so much that I'm going to order another to hold vinegar for tableside.

Works great
A great container for vinegars or oils. Just be carefully with it when you wash it as it is fragile.

Excelente producto

Drizzles the perfect amount of oil
I really really like this I just use it for the first time today and it drizzles the perfect amount to grease up a pan just a bit or dress a salad. I like the simple way it looks, and I found that I did not have to hold my finger on the spout to keep it from falling out it just kind of stays in there. Considering purchasing an additional one for a different type of oil.
