The hydrometer is fine, but the plastic measurement vial is opaque, making it very difficult to read the hydrometer scale when inside. The vial diameter is also much larger than required, so you'll waste at least 8 oz of your brew to get the hydrometer to float. I ended up purchasing a clear vial from a local retailer that works much better. The scale is easy to read through the clear tube, and about half the amount of beer is required to get a good reading with the same hydrometer. Don't waste your money on the kit. Just buy the hydrometer and a clear vial "a la carte".

Like it seems to work okay but here's the problem if you even slightly tap this thing at all on anything it's just going to shatter. Just look you'll find one maybe just a couple dollars more and you'll get something much better .just the case of buy cheap you get cheap

Description doesn’t match details..I missed it and ordered but can’t use. It only goes to 20 proof so it really can’t do other alcohol

Broke in like 5 minutes

It works but the plastic vial is painful on the eyes to get an accurate reading.

Great product. Great price. The enclosed directions made eleventh-grade chemistry finally make sense. Maybe if chem teachers told us we could use science to make beer, we’d learn it faster.

Works great for the purpose

Arrived fast and at a good price. Calibrated in water and accurate ( at least at one data point) graduated cylinder is a nice add on
