DiCAPac WP-310 waterproof case for digital cameras

5 stars as it does work - for me anyway. Took it to Cuba on my Honeymoon and it worked a treat, got some great shots underwater.Tested it first - stuffed it full of tissue and cotton wool, filled up the sink and used a weight to hold it under the water and I left it there all day and over night - no leaks!!!!I then took it in the shower with me on several occasions, again with cotton wool inside. I tried everything to get water into it (expect stabbing it) and it held up.Time to put the camera in - the fit was ok - not perfect, but it did work, some photos have a bit of a black ring showing in the corners, this is from the lens attachment you use and fix to the front of the case. I found it good practice to have the camera on and ready in the case before going into the water - by that I mean, have the flash on (really helps underwater) and have my finger on the button ready to go. Its very difficult to try and navigate through the camera functions when underwater, even to use the zoom as its very blurry trying to look / read the screen on the back of the camera - so I found no Zoom to be the best (can always crop pictures afterwards)So when I first pout the camera in I tested it again under running taps and fully submerged in the sink - took a few shots of the sink plug, worked fine. Its always a bit scary entering the water with your camera so my advice would be to check it and check it again to make sure its all done up tight.Works as basically a zip lock bag you fold down a piece of Velcro and then roll this over 3 times and use a second bit of Velcro to fix the seal and it works.I found the strap a bit annoying when trying to swim - it did come off 3 times before I just tied it around my ankle. It does float which is handy, but tying it around my ankle kept it out of the way when it wasn't needed.Good case, great service, would recommend - make sure you get the case to fit your camera model as it is not universal - and test it first.

This is a bit of a fiddle to open - at least the first time, but it gets easier. The front lens unscrews which makes releasing any vacuum simple. Also handy for cleaning. It is nice hard clear plastic so does not degrade the photos.The bag itself is pretty tough, gives you confidence that it'll last a good while. But it's flexible enough that most of the camera's controls are easily accessed. The one exception is the zoom control if you have one of the type that is a small lever on a ring around the button that takes the shot. Sliding this lever is pretty hard through the tough plastic. Definitely a two handed operation and no fine control.However, for the price, this is a no-brainer if you want to use your land camera in wet or sandy places. I love mine.

This case works really well with my Canon Ixus & enabled me to take some great underwater shots of fish in the Red Sea. It was a bit fiddly using the zoom feature on the camera while in the case & I found that I had to have my camera on at least 1/5th zoom otherwise a partial black ring would appear in the photos from the case. It was easy to swim with the camera strap around my neck & as it floats I had no worries of dropping it when passing it to my husband to use in the sea. I initially contemplated buying an underwater camera but with the poor battery life in most models I'm pleased I opted for the waterproof case to use with my existing camera.

The item quality is good but the description of the item on the website is not appropriate. Based on the internal sizes of the item gave on the website my camera should have fitted in it but it does not. I had to return the item and reclaim the cost. The opening of the item is smaller than the actual internal size, maybe the internal size is fit for the camera just the camera cannot go trough the opening.

Fits my OLYMPUS VG130 digital camera ok, there is a bit of movement inside but if you take care its no big deal. Tried it in salt water pool and got some good photos of the fish trapped there, no water ingress at all so very happy with purchase.Also its very compact and at a very good price.

Sceptical it would work, but it does everything it says on the package. Used it snorkelling and results were great

It is wonderful to use under water. My camera was safe and sound. The strap provided giver confidence not loosing the camera under water and is easy to swim with.
