Honest Review
I honestly think this is a good product. I like the design and durability. The front panel is well designed and the fan can be turned on or off. The fan is not silent but can be turned off. I find the transfer speeds pretty good. Yeah I’m very happy with this product.

Would recommend this unit.
It’s so easy to use. I literally installed 1 drive. It showed up. I installed second drive it showed up as a different drive. 3 and 4 the same. Works with the Mac and tested it on friend’s windows machine. IT DID’NT LET US DOWN. Transferred easily with Apple Music and Apple TV. Installed new movies overnight. (68 movies and internet speed dependent) So shows all 4 drives individually across the network ( set up but by the connection to the Mac) Accessed easily across the network, no glitches so far. I like it because it’s 1 unit, 1 connection, no trailing wires. No confusion, the fan can be switched on/ off manually. The only issue with this unit is it will hot swap it’s self with no problems . But Mac ‘s don’t like this. And throws a fit. It’s best to eject the drive on the Mac Then swap it. Mac will detect the new drive. Windows machine didn’t have this problem. But to be honest I’ve had this problem with Mac’s and other drives. If your a Mac user you’ll already know this. I’d recommend this unit and it’s brilliant for media content.

They do a useful job but not without their flaws.
Updated - after leaving the review below, I have now upgraded to a new Mac. Happy to say there are no connection issues whatsoever anymore so my previous issues were down to my old Mac, not these enclosures which are very stable and reliable. They have also just released a new version which adds a 5th drive bay and a decent set of RAID options. The new version is approx twice the price but still represents excellent value for money. Aside from my connection issues which I now know were the fault of my old Mac, I stand by the rest of the review below… I’ve been using these for many years, in fact, I run four of them, fully loaded with SSDs (I’m a composer so am using lots of huge sample libraries). There is very little else in the market which approaches the convenience of these at a comparable price point. When they work, they work fine and you can easily just forget about them. However, I have a lot of trouble getting all four units to connect and mount reliably. In fact, I now have to power them on in a certain order, after my Mac has booted, in order for them all to connect properly. Otherwise, one of them will take ages to show up on the desktop, and when it eventually does, the drives all appear empty! And operate very slowly. This is quite frightening! But reboot them and everything shows up just fine. My other criticism is the fan. It’s incredibly noisy yet moves so little air as to be virtually pointless. The result is that with 4 SSDs in such close proximity in a tight closed space, things get pretty warm. That said, I’m still using the same SSD drives which I installed ten years ago and they’re all still in great shape. In summary, these are a good value and neat solution if like me, you need access to multiple SSDs and can’t afford the more expensive, larger solutions. The packaging they come in is ridiculously over the top and quite unnecessary. I wish they would update this product with an improved model to address these issues. I don’t know if anything better at this price point. So I would recommend them, with some caution.

Everything I've come to expect from Sabrent
I thought this could make a fun low-speed, low power NAS hanging either from a Lenovo Tiny PC or a RasPi. Hopes were not at all high with this - it was just a bit of fun after all, and yet Sabrent have once again managed to fall well short of my already-low expectations. For starters, the device is pulling the same stunts as their little stand-alone one-drive USB-to-SATA adaptors and rewriting the device IDs to a generic Sabrent one (see second photo). That could be worked around, but under either Windows or Debian, drive slot 4 just would not behave. Windows would report drives of wildly different sizes and then just bin the disk in slot 4 after a random amount of time, and Linux had trouble partitioning the drive in bay 4. Eventually worked, but kept being kicked from either MD- or ZFS-based arrays. Formatting as a single EXT4 disk also didn't work for any period of time. (Using the same drives hanging from four USB-SATA adaptors from another manufacturer works just fine, however!) Shuffling the disks like a pack of cards resulted in fault-staying-with-slot - ANY drive in slot 4 just misbehaved right from the get-go. Tried WD Reds, Hitachi H2T10003272S, WD blue and some Samsung 860 Evo SSDs - none worked correctly. The final nail in the coffin is the fan. It makes a prestigious amount of noise whilst moving almost no air. You can turn it off, but then your drives are in an essentially unventilated, double-skinned plastic case and cook themselves. This is an utterly terrible product. Even if all the slots worked and it didn't mash drive IDs, it's expensive for something that will noisily cook your drives, but it doesn't even manage to do that. I think most of the cost goes into the rediculously overkill packaging. Utter rubbish. Avoid.

Like it that much I bought a second
Haven’t fully filled both yet but liked the first so much I bought a second. Solid construction and a fast interface. Don’t really use the HOT swap option but nice you can replace defect drives. Some complain about the fans, most external drives arrive in a slab of metal and plastic with no fans, this has space and venting. If you’re using an intensive task turn on the fans, pity it’s not automatic with a heat sensor. Tidied up my desk as multiple hard drives now in two cases for me. UPDATE - looked at the bigger 5TB hard drives but discovered this unit accepts HDDs & SSDs up to 12mm thick some larger drives are 15mm thick otherwise still a great enclosure. UPDATE: have been adding drives and upon fitting a fourth drive my PC could recognise them all only recognised 3 drives. Found issue was needed a dedicated powered USB hub to support the power needed. Some reviews seem to show the same. Split feed from all your other drives and things work great.

It just works! Brilliant device to consolidate storage into one unit.
This Dock runs quiet. Smoothly. No noise unless you turn on the fan, and that should only be turned on when you are doing heavy work. Small and convenient. Does what is says. No need for any software installation and just works out the box. Handy for consolidating your ssd storage. Love it. One improvement would be to add a feature where it takes all the storage and makes one mounted drive for storage and then intelligently stores across multiple drives, much like stripping and Raid. However as a basic use device it’s brilliant.

Not as listed! Actually USB 3.0 not USB 3.2 Gen 1
Looks like a potentially good product, however what arrived is a USB 3.0 4-bay dock where as the listing say it is USB 3.2 Gen 1. Only just got it, it works, quite slow at file transfers from my SSD'd at around 255mb r/w as tested on my Blackmagic speed disk. I'll probably keep it as I need a multiple disk dock, just a shame it's not USB 3.2 Gen 1.

Amazing for what it is.
This is a great ssd Bay, can't fault its design or quality. It provides fast throughput for data transfer and is NOWHERE near as loud as people are making out. Yes, there's a fan, yes it spins, yes it produces noise, but what can you expect from a spinning fan... It comes with a UK or US plug. So don't worry about reviews mentioning wrong plug. I haven't used It for raid. I use it for drives that I store my work projects on. Once they're done, I put them in a protective case, label it and drop them in a drawer. Much easier than having to buy ssd cases and a lot cheaper too.

Sabrent 4 Bay USB funciona.

ultra simple
Bon produit, fonctionne tres bien! Le ventilateur fait un peu de bruit, si vous ne laissez pas allumé tout le temps, il suffi t de retirer le capot , comme ça c'est sans bruit.

Noisy but otherwise great piece of hardware!
Seller: Sold as used at half price. Original packaging, complete and spotless. Great bargain. Product: The 4-bay dock is used with four 8 tb Samsung QVO ssd:s and connected to USB 3.0. Read speed a satisfying 350 MB/s. No write speed data yet. When idling or reading, drive temps are under 50C with the lid taken off. Continous writing gets them up to 58C. Then the lid comes on and noisy fan activates, reducing temp to 48C. This thing is better than I expected.

Acquisto consigliato
Dopo qualche anno di utilizzo quotidiano confermo la qualità la silenziosità assoluta non necessita attivare la ventilazione perché gli ssd non scaldano. Consiglio l'acquisto.
