Let's you position your web cam in a better place
If you do a lot of web meetings, this stand will make you look better. Many people use the built in web cam on a laptop and it's usually looking up your nose with a very unflattering angle. Or the screen is tipped so that people only see the top of your head.Do yourself a favor and get a USB web cam and this stand. Position the stand behind your laptop or your monitor. Ideally your web cam should be near or slightly above your eye level so that it's not looking up at your nose.This stand is very sturdy. The base is heavy enough that a USB web cam is not likely to tip over. I didn't have to extend it up very far to clear the top of a 32" monitor. At first I had trouble screwing the post onto the base. Then I figured out I had to extend the post a little bit. The inner part of the post was all the way down and blocking the threads on the outer part from screwing onto the base.The ball head adapter is very good quality. Most stands would come with a really cheap small ball head.The cell phone holder works great. You could use your cell phone as a web cam with the right software. You can also use this stand to make videos to post online.
