NOLA baby here. iYKYK. I am living landlocked right now and my family wanted oyster dressing for Holiday dinner. I was unable to source shucked oysters—- fresh frozen—- what to do? I found these made by Bumble Bee. I know this brand from makin grocery with my Mimi. So, I gave them a leap of faith and I’m SO GLAD I did. These were not too salty. These were not rubbery out of the can. And they were plentiful for the price. They were free of shell bits. And they were not overly strong in smell or flavor. I should note that I did not actually “cook” these oysters. The rice base was prepared and the chopped Bumble Bee oysters were added at the end while the rice was still smokin steaming hot. Such a hit at the Holiday table. Thank you, Bumble Bee, for your continued dedication to quality pantry goods and staples. I have already added this product to my saved grocery items folder. Delicious oyster. Good price. I like it.

This is about managing your expectations. I’m from NJ and have access to fresh oysters all the time so trying canned oysters was an experiment. The oysters are large, good quality and all were intact for a nice presentation. If you know the difference between east coast and west coast oyster varieties these are like the west coast varieties. They are plump and on the sweet side so if you’re used to east coast varieties as I am don’t expect a firm texture and briny flavor. Don’t overcook them and they will not be rubbery. As for this girl, I’m going to stick with raw on the half shell but these are a good value for the money.

I love to make a oyster stew from these. They aren’t as good as fresh, but they are handy to have when you don’t have time to shop.

these canned Oysters - we very disappointing bad.... don't know is bad or really bad.... tried to prepare them, even though I had doubts.... the appearance and the smell was off...way off.. but still went ahead... pure gag... sick all afternoon and evening.... don't know what was wrong...but for sure not worth the money... The can was in good condtion and they did not sit in the sun... the date was all good... the product was awful
