Easy to read and understand on what measurement you need
I used an old Stanley measuring tape which showed the Numerical "Feet", printed in actual numbers only and just the standard inch lines. After time went on, I pretty much forgot what 1/16, 1/8, and 1/4 was at.This Cresent Lufkin changes that old frustration I had trying to figure out what is what. With the "Easy To Read Numbered Markings", using a measuring tape is Not so intimidating anymore.Plus the now Red Markings on the bottom portion, shows you the quick readings of where the Center ("Half") of a Total measuring length would be.No more fumbling around with numbers in your head.Definitely a user-friendly measuring tape which I'm glad was available.

Where has this been all my life?
I redo old and usually broken furniture and have 3 standard tape measures on my work bench. I have never seen a"centered" tape measure until I accidently ran across this one. I confess ....I am not good at math, especially when I am trying to center drawer pulls or knobs. Usually I have the calculator on my phone near by and paper and a pencil and I still have problems. This one is so freaking easy to read and find the center. I bought 2. One for me and one for a retired high school shop teacher who had never seen one before either!

Great niche Tape Measure. Can't wait to install some drawer handles.
Great product. I remodel homes. This will come in handy when installing drawer handles. It is a bit cumbersome as a regular tape due to the fractions being on one side of the tape and the clip on the end is a bit small and falls off when pulling a measurement on the side of an object. This plagues many tape measures. Otherwise very well made and super happy to have it in my tool box.

Solid
This Lufkin has a solid hard plastic casing. Feels and looks like it's very well made. The self centering markings is a nice feature and not hard to read if your eyesight is half way decent. You get about an 8.5 to 9 foot standout (how long the tape extends before breaks/bends), which is very good for a 3/4" wide tape. The lock/unlock button is a bit different than my other tape measures where I can lock and unlock using only my thumb. Because of the position and design of the button, you use your thumb to lock, and your index finger to unlock. You'll hear a nice solid snap when locking and unlocking. You may or may not like this. I think it's fine. The recoil is fast but like any other tape measure that recoils fast you shouldn't allow it to snap back at full speed (at least not too often) because over time it could damage the internal coil mechanism. A way to prevent this from happening is to place your middle finger under tape as you unlock with your index finger to create a little friction to slow it down.I like this tape measure and see myself using it quite a bit.
