Sri Ramana Maharshi: The Supreme Guru Paperback – 28 April 2016

This book is short(only 143 pages)but very concise. Every page is a gem and very well written. It also contains a copy of Sri Maharshi's classic work "Who am I" which I was pleasantly surprised to find and some rare photographs. Alan Jacobs has also included some rare conversations devotees had with Ramana Maharshi which I found very helpful and have not seen them in any other biography.There is a detailed account of how one devotee, Papaji, actually experienced his spiritual Heart opening directly from the gaze of the Maharshi. He says " All I can say is that in the Maharshi's presence, and under his gaze, the Heart opened and bloomed. It was an extraordinary experience, one that I have never had before." It is from reading such personal accounts as this that I find courage to continue my practise of Self realization under the guidance of the Maharshi's teachings.Although this book is listed as a biography it becomes so much more as you read it, it also becomes a guide to the work of this great sage.

I've been a follower of Ramana Maharshi for 50 years so I'm happy to read anything by or about him. I've not read this before and even though I've just started reading it, it was a nice surprise to find facts about his early life that I didn't know.Can definitely recommend.

Such an comprehensive and beautiful book about this great sage! The author has used his considerable knowledge to bring the energy of India's greatest teacher into print. One can feel the bliss of Sri Ramana in the words. I've studied Ramana Maharshi for many years and yet found new stories and blessings in this book. Kudos to the author for this lovely gift to all of us who love the Maharshi.
