Aluminum square tube construction with adjustable width up to 36" and a fixed 12" standoff distance. The brackets and hardware are steel. Brackets can be bolted to the ladder in addition to the U-clamps. All hardware supplied, good and welds are very good. I'm using it for permanent installation on my 21' extension ladder for gutter screen installation and maintenance. Will also use it for painting. I love that it is lightweight making it easier to handle the ladder (very important), will make my tasks safer and less damaging to the gutters and roof. The tubes can easily be removed from the mounted brackets if needed. No complaints at all about this product.

This was installed on a basic 12' aluminum extension ladder. It took a little bit of fabrication to make it fit the way I wanted it to fit, but no big deal to get it right. I attribute this to the fact that not all ladders are created equal plus I'm the guy climbing it and I knew what would make me feel safer on the ladder. The stability it provides is huge compared to what I had before installing it. Stepping off the ladder onto my roof is very comfortable now. No fear of the ladder coming out from under me anymore. Plus I love the way the stabilizer arms can be taken off the ladder with the spring loaded catches. Makes storing the ladder or using it where the stabilizer isn't needed very easy. Well built and sturdy. Peace of mind at a very affordable price.

Works very well and is easy to attach to ladder. Nice price also.If they made the wheels about twice the size they are now it would be perfect.

So handy to get onto a steep slope roof. Well built and strong. I felt safe using it on a high roof.

flimsy design

I bought this for a Werner, light duty, type III, 16' aluminum extension ladder. It fits beautifully and functions properly. It is adjustable in size to accommodate different ladder dimensions. It stands of my gutter by 10 to 12 inches making it perfect for gutter cleaning and adds stability when positioned on the roof. The device is light enough in weight creating no problem carrying the ladder around the house. I would have given it 5 stars if the instruction set that came with it was clearer. I actually wound up using one of the photos from the Amazon site, enlarged on my computer to figure out how to install.
