THERMAREST NEOAIR ALL SEASON SV MATTRESS GECKO (REGULAR WIDE)

Extra width and thickness of the mattress makes a significant difference to having a comfortable night's sleep. The extra width is a real bonus so not rolling off during the night and the greater thickness gives a much more comfortable sleep. I weight about 70-72kg so not mega fat, huge or heavy. Not sure about the speed valve though. I only use it to deflate the mattress which is very quick once the SV is opened. I have the Thermarest pump sack to inflate it which although can be a faff but not once you get used to it, plus it is much better then breathing your warm moist breath into the mattress to inflate it possibly causing mould and fungus to develop inside over time. It feels very good quality and hopefully last a life time. My other Thermarest mats from years ago are still going strong. Don't leave them in a warm hot environment so the glues soften meaning the air inside expands causing them to delaminate more easily. Always open the valve. But this applies to any air mattress.

Fantastic bit of kit, really impressed with the quality of this product. It does weigh more than the others in the range. However the lightest Therm A Rest V this one adds 350+ grams to the base weight of your bag. But you'll have a better night's sleep and it's not so fragile in feeling..So it's boils down to lighter kit or great nights sleep... For me great to good night's sleep every time... Perfect for quilt camping.

Used this below freezing in a solo tent and kept lovely and warm and the most comfortable couple of nights I have had camping since I was much younger. The speed valve works but the stars of the show are the comfort and thermal insulation - these are worth the money if like me you value your sleep.

I used this while camping all over Central Asis, Iran, the Caucasus, Turkey, China, East and Southern Africa and never had a minute's problem with it. It ensured a good night's sleep. It's a bit squeaky if not inflated fully. Highly recommended.
