Easy to fit, error free, super bright LEDs
Tried the earlier G3 Models before in other Golfs but must say these latest G4 Edition are something else; new cool design, super bright and take only 5 minutes to install as have the bulb holder that golfs use built into the bulb, just twisted old ones out, twisted these in and jobs a good one, really bright and look fantastic!

Game-changer?
[Update at 5 months. Unfortunately my comment below about fanless possibly being more reliable put a jinx on these. One of the fans started to become much noisier at about 4 months.I contacted the seller and they have been very responsive sorting this out. I offered a video which they accepted, but of course I then couldn't provide the link because Amazon removed it. We worked it out somehow - I think they need some evidence of the fault of course or for the faulty one to be sent back. It was a bit confused, but they were helpful and responsive even on the weekend and are UK based staff. So there's good backup for these which counts for a lot against most of the rest. For a short time I had one of these bulbs in and one of the other very good fanless one's I have. In truth there was hardly anything in it performance wise (I tried by driving and also took some pictures which I've not bothered to load up). These GBrite's have possibly a slightly better cutoff accuracy.I'd still highly recommend these, but with the caveat that if changing bulbs on your car is hard (e.g. bumper off), then I'd have to think twice. I just swapped in the replacement bulb and still needed to remove the headlight despite trying again to swap with it in place. Perhaps if you have very long, strong fingers?[Quick update after having had a chance to use now for 3+ months. We've used the car enough at night to know that we don't seem to be causing other drivers any issues (no flashes at all). One thing I forgot to say in the original review is that, on the Scirocco, the dipped beam bulbs also serve as the daytime running lights (unless you've coded differently to use another light). These are simply too bright as DRLs.They can be dimmed if you have access to VCDS/Vagcom. I have done this on our Golf and Scirocco where we have LEDs serving as DRls. They need to be dimmed down to 40% at most otherwise you'll be causing issues during the day for other drivers. This is quite easy to do if you have VCDS or can get someone to assist. It's a one-off thing, but important if fitted in this way.]Review of GBrite G4 H7 bulbs.Pros- No dash errors Golf Mk6, Scirocco- Beam pattern with good cut-off and left kick up- Even, brighter lighting on the roadCons- Fan-based design- Shorter than stock bulb and holder so reaching inside the headlight for fitting/removal even harderI’ve had a couple of sets which look physically very similar to these before. I didn’t keep either for my Golf mk6 due to problems with dashboard errors and poor beam pattern.I do have some others in our Scirocco which are of a different design, fanless and with a slightly lower claimed lumens output. They’re the only ones out of many I’ve tried which managed a beam pattern which was not going to be a hazard to others and fail an MOT. Those give errors on the Scirocco but not the Golf.So I had low expectations for these. They claim “super focused” and “Accurate beam pattern”. We’ll see. It’s interesting that this seller makes no claims about them being “CANBus” or “error-free” as most do (even though the errors have nothing to do with CANBus).--Fitting--I’ll not talk about the difficulties of access to headlights in many VWs since that’s the same for all bulbs, but these bulbs have the same problem in their design as every similar bulb. The original VW holders are like a paddle allowing a good grip and leverage even if you can only perhaps get a couple of fingers to them. Like others, these bulbs are just smooth cylinders. Super difficult to get purchase on to lock into place (or get out again) when you can only juuuuuusssssst reach them. One day perhaps, one of these manufacturers will include a couple of lugs on the side of the cylinder and ship them with a simple tool which makes fitting easy. In the meantime, if you have Scirocco, you’re quite lucky as the headlights can be removed relatively easily. A mk6 Golf? Not so much. You can see in the pictures how much shorter this bulb is compared to a halogen H7 and the holder. There’s another picture showing the bulb in a Scirocco headlight; you can see it’s quite recessed. On my Golf I struggled to get one of these in with any kind of positive click (although it did light in the end). On the Scirocco I took the headlights out to fit (easy then, but headlights out on a Golf is a much bigger job).Perhaps worth noting here that these are a fan-based design. The ones I swapped out were rated at slightly lower brightness but are fanless (i.e. no moving parts - more reliable?)--Dash errors—I tried one bulb in the Golf and had no dash errors. That was unexpected and after seeing the beam pattern with one bulb (see later), I decided to try both in our Scirocco. We’ve taken that for a few spins now in the daytime with these bulbs therefore acting as daytime running lights. No errors.I’ve also been out at night to check the lights. Although it was again a short drive, there have been no errors so far.As I’d managed to find some H7s for the main beam (which doesn’t use the VW specific holders) without errors, the Scirocco now has dips and mains with LEDs and no errors.--Comparison of performance—Subjectively these are very impressive. The spread of light on the road is very even with no shadows or bright spots. This may vary in other headlights of course. The beam pattern has a strong kick up to the left (see below) and the horizontal band of light spreads across to the left well also. The image of the lights on shining on a road gives a fair impression of how the lights look in practice.--Beam pattern—I initially did a quick check of beam pattern with one bulb fitted and using my garage door in my Golf. I was pleasantly surprised that there was evidence of a decent beam pattern (unlike the last similar looking ones I tried which just had a splodge of light).I’ve included a comparison picture. The top shows one other type of LED H7 (which looks physically very similar to the GBrite) fitted on the LEFT. That’s in my Golf. At the bottom , one GBrite G4 H7 is fitted on the RIGHT.It’s not a perfect comparison – different cars/headlights, different headlamp up/down setting (both cars have variable levelling). But I think it’s fairly apparent that the other bulb has a massive splodge of light way above where it’s horizontal cut-off should be. By comparison GBrite G4 shows a definite cut-off. It’s possible that the Golf headlamps are less suited than the Scirocco’s to this type of bulb. They are the same type of headlights however (both reflector rather than projector) and the other bulb was advertised as suitable for the Golf.I’d say the GBrite G4’s pattern seems like it’s still slightly higher (the headlamps are correctly aligned and there is not a difference when both sides have halogens in). I checked the car’s level left to right as best I could. If anything, the left of the car was marginally higher so this slightly high pattern may be more significant than shown here.Because it’s a clean cut-off, vertical alignment or use of a levelling adjuster can compensate if there is an issue, but this may cause main beams to be lower than ideal.I won’t know for sure how good this is until a) we’ve driven more at night and b) when the car is next MOTed. But certainly this is a much better effort than I’ve seen from other bulbs we’ve tried.--Summary—I had low expectations as I’ve tried so many bulbs with only a set not available on Amazon giving an acceptable beam (but still with errors in the Scirocco). I can’t test beam pattern completely accurately, but these certainly seem much better than others I’ve tried.I’m going to try the ones I’ve just taken out of the Scirocco in my Golf, but if they’re no good, I’ll have no hesitation in buying a set of these G4s.
