A comment on the instruction manual
It is a nice machine, does what it says on the box, and if you have owned a food processor before there are no surprises. The cutting blade is much better than others that I have used, but I will refer you to the other good reviews instead of duplicating them. Instead I will comment on the user manual. If you haven't owned a food processor before you may wonder what on earth it's all about because the instruction manual will leave you absolutely none the wiser. It is dreadful. The first page gives you some idea of what to expect in terms of accessories, with sketches of each of the items that should be in your box with your machine. There are additional sketches alongside them to indicate what each implement is supposed to be used for but these are like having a bad partner in Pictionary because the illustrations are really very poor and it is difficult to make out what they are supposed to be.After the official health and safety notice about keeping your fingers firmly detached from the blade etc, the manual goes into how to put the thing together (easy enough) and how much of each you can fit into the bowl to process in a go (again, the sketches of food items rather than actual words involve something of a guessing game). From there on in it looks at each accessory in turn. Good luck with that. The sparse text for the chopping blade gives you 2 standard processing times for chopping and kneading jobs and tells you not to over-process choc or cheese or it will become too hot. And that's it. It gives you no idea what sort of times are involved in over- or under-processing. I still haven't figured out how to use the kneading accessory (the standard kneading time is 30-180 seconds - quite a big margin!), or how to use the emulsifying disk for mayonnaise (there are no instructions or recipes for mayo, which is a bit of an artform in its own right even when you do know what you're doing). There are instructions for the blender, which isn't included.Storage seems easy enough to follow, via the sketches and cleaning is straight forward. There are recipes. But only three of them (without sketches this time): Fresh fruit milkshake, Nourishing vegetable soup from Budapest (I kid you not) and Pizza dough. The machine is good but the instructions are dire. Avoid if you need more help than the above, because you won't get it from the instruction manual.

small processor
I use this for kneading bread. It does the job very quickly and efficiently - a minor criticism is that the motor runs too fast. The mixing bowl is SMALL(hence 3 stars) - diameter of 18cm, usable depth of 7cm, depth to lid of 10cm, nominal capacity of 1200cc - large enough to make e.g. 6 beef burgers or 4 bowls of soup or to knead 250g of flour. However since it is so quick it is only a minor hassle to do preparations in small batches. Good for limited space situations but frustratingly small if you have room for a larger processor. Yeah the instructions are incomprehensible so any one's guess what the various attachments are for and the drive shaft sits in a recessed cog and tends to drop out every time you lift the bowl off the machine.

Nifty Little Machine
I needed a food processor to make baby food and settled on this. It didn't make sense to break the bank on a machine specifically for one purpose. After all is said and done, I will use it for general food tasks. One reviewer mentioned "fiddly bits"..yes, that's to suit the various functions. I guess if you only use one blade like myself, it's not too much of a problem. The instructions were a bit confusing at first, but thankfully there are diagrams/visuals of which blade(s) to use depending on what you need to do.

Great for vegans
I use this to make banana ice cream, nut butters and soups, the list goes on. I think because it doesn't have loads of bells and whistles it actually does the job right. I had a morphy Richards fancy one and it burnt out. I'd reccomend using the pulse function for short bursts and then fully process for a minute or 2 and rest 30 seconds. I've never smelt burning from this one either. Only reason it's not 5 stars is that it's hard to get clean without a dishwasher

Was glad I bought it after "NIcer Dicer" disaster
I was sure I was going to pick up an electric appliance this time I really thank god that I made the right decision. This product does its job well and saves lot of time.On the first day tried choppingonions & carrots(perfect) , sliced poptatoes(it was a bit thicker than expected) and made dough(it was really good).Tried the grating blade as well(no complaints at all)* Blades are really sharp. Make sure you are extra careful while handling them

It's ok, but shame you can't get more attachments
As the title suggests, this is ok and works well for the price. I did hope I would be able to buy some additional attachments if I wanted - I'm not sure what value the 'granulating' disk has, and would I would have preferred a fine grater attachment. Likewise I think I would have preferred whisks to the emulsifying disk. Having said that I think it's good value, it's my first ever food processor, and I've been having lots of fun with it.

Philips have ALWAYS been good
Not 100 % satisfied - - the locking and unlocking is very stiff, with nothing to get a good grip on - slight risk of slipping and hitting the control switch. It might be my fault, as it's still new to me, but I would have liked more even end results - some gets chopped fine, while leaving chunks as well. However, I'm happy with it.

Small but mighty
Was a little surprised at the size when I got it (my fault) but it makes up for it in power - zips through everything - beware of the blade it is sharp - I just have to do it in 2 goes. Being compact it tidies away nicely and comes apart easily for cleaning - really pleased with it so far
