Very Dissapointed
I am extremely disappointed with this purchase. I bought this at the end of October, and though it worked fine for the first few weeks, it is now giving me trouble on almost every workout. There seems to be a problem with the connection between the sensors on the chest and the watch, so that during any workout, it is not uncommon for me to lose my heart rate 5-8 times. The watch goes blank, with no heart rate shown. The heart rate reappears again, at some point, before cutting out again. With a brand like Suunto, I was expecting more.

Great look, but some times de hr signal fail
Great look monitor with good web page to track your moves. I will give it 5 but some times when the hr is low the watch can not find the signal

Definitely recommend
Wonderful purchase. After months of online research and forum reading, I decided to go on with buying this Suunto Quest. This is my first watch with HR monitor. I am an amateur runner, having 10-20k/week, with daily exercise routine. I have always wanted to go further with my training and check my pulse and this watch works like a charm. The package included the watch, HR monitor sensor, chest strap and usb dongle for PC connectivity. My first test was 5K on the treadmill. The watch connected in 15 seconds with the chest strap and the HR is in real time. What I noticed is that the treadmill also pared with the sensor, showing on the display the pulse without touching the treadmill (Technogym). My second test was outside, having a 12K run in the park. No issue whatsoever. Everything worked perfectly. The PC connectivity with the USB dongle went great, downloading my workouts on my mac. The online application has lots of information with easy to follow HR diagram.Based on my experience I summarise below the pros/cons:Pros: low price, no risk of blisters (watches with integrated HRM burn the wrist)Cons: after running 10K the chest strap did not bother, but with longer distance it may get unconfortableOverall, I am more then pleased with my purchase. 5*

Suunto Quest: Handsome watch; so-so transmitter; great on-line tools
I've used this watch about 30 times now since purchasing it 4 months ago. As others have noted in reviews already, the watch tends to lose transmitter contact with the chest strap, leaving flat lines in your workout tracking. I've tried replacing the batteries, rotating the watch to the inside of my wrist when I run, and using electrode gel on the strap. None of these techniques solve the problem. The watch loses signal a bit more often than the 10-year-old Polar it replaced and the Polar at least reliably re-connected when held against the chest strap for a few seconds. What I do now when I am working out is relocate the watch someplace closer to the strap. When I run I tie the watch to the drawstring of my running shorts. When I bike I strap the watch to my handlebars. When I lift weights I strap the watch to the chest strap and pull my shirt over the top of it. Which looks goofy and obviously makes using the "lap" function impractical if that is important to you. All of which takes some of the James Bond-ian fun out of having a heart rate monitor watch. It is too bad the thing doesn't just do the one thing it should reliably do. In all fairness I read other reviews before I purchased the watch and knew that loss of contact was a known issue with this model. I was prepared to tinker with the thing and get creative. But it is still a bit disappointing to have it not work as well as you want it to. As Don Cheadle says, "you had one job to do!"The watch looks great on the wrist. It is well designed and easy to read. The initial quality of the construction is good -- the clasp is chunky and handsome, the strap looks and feels great, the watch case feels sturdy. The bezel is quite tall at the outer edge, so if you wear your shirt cuffs tight the Suunto Quest will likely not fit inside the cuff. I tend to wear the Quest all the time now unless I have to wear a suit. It takes up a bit more space than I find comfortable with a suit on. Otherwise it is cool to look down and see the watch you used to track your workout that morning. Makes you feel like a champ. There is a definite psychological component to wearing a heart rate monitor as your daily watch. I never thought the Polar was attractive enough to use for regular wear. The Quest certainly is.I rate this watch four out of five stars because in addition to being a handsome and reasonably well functioning watch/monitor, the Quest also links to Suunto's great web site for uploading fitness data. Movescount.com is a great site and makes having the heart rate data more satisfying and fun. There is no cost to participate and the Quest comes with a wireless USB receiver to connect your watch to your computer for data uploading. It is a surprisingly elegant and simple process. If pure heart-rate monitor functionality is your priority, look elsewhere. If you want a handsome watch that does several things reasonably well, I recommend the Suunto Quest.

Good product let down by the Heart Rate Belt
I love the watch however I am having problems with the Heart Rate Belt. After a couple of uses the belt has stretched and doesn't give a good fit or hold its position. The signal between the watch and HR monitor is patchy so doesn't always give a true measure of the training completed. I do High Impact Cardio classes, e.g. Les Mills Body Combat, and Toning Classes, e.g. Kettlercise, Les Mills Body Pump so this is becoming an issue.Otherwise the dial is clear and simple to read. The light function is poor as attempting to read it in a darkened Spin studio is a challenge.Overall a great watch let down with a poor Heart Rate Belt thus only three stars.

Interfaccia convoluta e leggibilità limitata all'aperto

No obstante seguiré investigando.
