Cannon Safe Inc. SSL-03-Electronic Lock Security Safe Light

This is pretty straight forward. As others have said the magnet is not very strong. I would equate it to about as strong as a standard fridge magnet. It is easily moved around if you push it. If you slam your safe door, I am sure it would fall. That being said, under normal conditions it works just fine.These are often out of stock or much more locally. I wanted something for if the power goes out. Other than that, I normally just turn the light on in the room when accessing the safe.Light is bright, red, runs on batteries and has one setting (push the button) which is constant on for a few minutes before it turns off automatically.All in all, it’s not life changing. But I wanted something to fill the niche and this is pretty low budget.

I read the reviews, before my purchase. I purchased 2 of the Cannon, exterior safe lights, as Christmas gifts. Many people complained "it was not bright, the magnet was not strong enough to hold the light in place, It is cheap junk." So here is my opinion: 1) The RED light is perfect for viewing the lock in the dark, and provides plenty of light to illuminate the lock! {See the photo} (A white light would kill your night vision, and also reveal your location!). 2) The magnet is strong enough to hold my light in place. My light, does NOT slide around easily, or fall off. It is also light enough to easily be removed, for using as a flash light, once you are inside your gun safe. (As it was designed for!) 3) The light times itself off after a few minutes, to save on battery power. Which is nice! 4) Plastic but durable construction.So, PROs: Bright Red Light, Holds in place, until needed to remove, Power off timer, durable, Affordable, & does what it is supposed to. CONs: Non found so far!For the money, it is a great light for your gun safe. I recommend them.

I feel much better about being able to open my safe discreetly in the middle of the night. It’s the perfect light level. My only knock on the product is the weakness of the magnet. The idea that you’re going to take it off to use it to look in your safe is kind of ridiculous. You should have lights in your safe. But the weakness of the magnet that holds it on the door was easily over come with some double-sided tape of the 30 pound capacity tape.

Not motion activated.. if it is suppose to be, mine doesn't work. Magnet is very weak. Slides around really easy. I will get some 3M strips to attach it. Light is good when button is pushed.

its nice but doesn't illuminate the numbers on the dial very well - unfortunately . I got it quick and it looks cool but thats about it

Weak magnet is the only drawback.

This was a great light. I purchased it to illuminate the keypad on my safe, and it worked perfectly well. When you initially receive it, you have to place the provided battery into the chip inside of the light. In order to turn the red led light on, you have to press the white button on the center of the upper portion of the light.It works well and I really like the fact that the light is red, because it preserves your night vision. Supposedly you can get 750 light cycles from the single battery that's provided, and then you simply replace the battery and you're good to go. Very happy with the purchase.

Little hesitant because of the neg reviews of the magnet being weak and prepared to replace it myself. For what ever reason it seems fine, maybe they changed it. I shut the door hard and it stayed in place. It also says that it is removable to use as a flashlight, so if were a lot stronger it would not come off very easily, so which is more important? Based on the assumption that it will be used for "dead of the night" access, red light is more than sufficient, it even helps in low light situations. A white light would ruin your night vision, perhaps just when you need it most. I'm good with it.

Had this for over a month with no issues. I can only complain that the magnet should be a bit stronger. Hasn’t fallen off my safe once though.
