Replacement for failed original
This was the sensor installed about 1-1/2 years ago on the drain pan under my attic A/C unit. The original sensor failed during an unusually hot and humid period this summer. The relay in the sensor was chattering constantly and my A/C unit would not run as a result. The molded plastic back of the sensor housing had several hairline cracks that I believe allowed moisture to get inside the sensor, causing the electronic components to malfunction. I ordered the same sensor to replace the failed one, because it fits nicely into a slot above the pan's drain line, it is well constructed, and it has the features that are needed for this application. I may add a guard over top of the sensor to keep condensation from dripping directly on the housing, although the specs say that it is submersible. I am pretty confident that the replacement sensor will last longer than the first one.

Works great, and MUCH lower price than a puck style soak switch!

Great idea - VERY unreliable!
Great idea - poor execution :-(I really wanted these to work but try as I might - after using 3 of them they all failed... :-(I was using them to detect an overflow condition in the evaporator drip pan of my air conditioners. The drip pan is quite shallow at <1" so typical mechanical float switches just don't work for me as they all need at least 1" to trip. These will trip with as little as .2" of water so they can be placed on the high side of a shallow drip pan in what should normally remain totally dry unless the drip pan drain gets clogged.Failures were as follows:Unit 1 - failed shortly after installation when it got wet (during testing), it tripped as it should but when it was dried off it started to chatter and drove the AC controller nuts. This type of failure could completely blow out an AC controller board if it occurs without supervision and quickly turning off the power to your AC.Unit 2 - passed testing after installation and then failed 3 months later after the first activation. It too got wet (as it is supposed to when there was too much water in the drip pan) and then wouldn't reset no matter how dry it was afterwards. So, it did its job exactly ONCE and had to be replaced. :-(Unit 3 - Was so sensitive that it would trip just for the high humidity underneath the evaporator even though it was bone dry!I give up - will have to try jury rigging a mechanical solution with a float... :-(

Inexpensive solution
Item worked and installation was fairly easy. The only problem I had was that Brown was the color used for common on my system Once I figured that out it was all good.

Fails after a year of use.
I've gone through two of these, over the past two years. Same problem, at some point they just won't reset. I'm not happy with this product. Giving 2 stars, because they do work properly for a while.
