Served me well for several years
I've had 2 of these coolers for several years and recently bought a third. We haul food up to our cabin in the mountains, and these coolers have done a great job. The 2 that I bought a few years ago are still like new. No leaks ever, and food is always icy cold when I unload them. I purchased these Icepacks to use with them. I see they are no longer available, but this type of ice sheet works great with these coolers: (three sheets stacked on top) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00M7TK77S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1*Fabric is tough and rugged.*Zippers are super hefty, as well as side clips.*Handles secure and can support a LOT of weight.*Keeps stuff cold even overnight...for many many hours if it's packed full.*Walls are super thick and easy to wipe clean.*Bottle opener attached.*Easy to store because their square shape allows them to stack on top of each other. We have also stacked them by 2 in our station wagon.Mind you, these aren't huge coolers but you can pack a lot in them. If they were any larger, you wouldn't be able to lift them fully packed.I also use them all Summer long around town as I live in the South and it gets so blazing hot here that I can't even get home with groceries before they heat up. I keep 2 in my car in summer and just throw ice packs in when I'm on the way to the grocery stores. These are an investment that I'm glad I made. Worth it!

Twenty four hours later, and our drinks were still submerged in an icy bath
This is the perfect cooler for an apartment dweller who doesn't have the space to store a hard-sided one - and is sick of wasting money on Styrofoam ones (which are terrible for the environment), or hard-sided ones that have to be gifted at the end of the weekend.I purchased this specifically for the Firefly Music Festival, which was held in Dover, DE on June 21st-23rd. The festival sells food, so the sole purpose of this was to keep water, soda and beers cold at our "campsite".It did just that. While I would top it off with an eight-pound bag of ice each morning, I probably could have gotten away with topping off every thirty six hours. Was the ice melted each day? Mostly, but the cans were still submerged in an icy bath of slush water. Considering the temperature was around ninety degrees each day, and the sun was constantly beating down on us, I'm quite impressed. The one thing that I should point out, and it might be cheating, is that I kept the cooler in the confines of our sun shade - however, I can tell you it was still quite hot in there. In terms of side-by-side comparison, I can tell you that this kept our beverages colder than a similar hard-sided cooler that was hastily purchased by my friends the morning of at a big box store. For those that want a cooler that is going to fold-down into nothing, I can tell you this is not for you though. It can be compressed to fit into tight spaces (like your cars trunk, or the small closet at home), but it's still going to take up a little space. For me, this was perfect, and it still looks brand new. I'm pretty sure I'll be using this over and over again for many years to come.

Disappointed
Love my other polar bear coolers!! They don't leak, keep things cold for a long time. This cooler leaked all over the place! Received a replacement and the replacement leaked too. There must be a flaw in the design as it leaks through the seam. If they ever get this issue solved I'd buy one. Other sizes of polar coolers are awesome.

Amazing cooler perfect for international travel
I read the reviews on this cooler and decided to spring for it as I was hoping to take back a number of refrigerated and frozen items with me from the U.S. to southeast Asia where I currently live. I included frozen steaks, fish fillets, scallops, asparagus, spinach and refrigerated salmon, bacon, yogurt, sour cream, ricotta and fresh cream. Note that I did not include any additional ice packs. I stuffed it so full that I had difficulty closing it but with the help of another person we succeeded. The entire cooler plus the contents weighed 50 pounds when I brought it to be checked in at the airport. The cooler was packed by 10 am on a Saturday morning (in early January) and was in transit until 6 am Monday morning (34 hours total when you take into account the 10 hour time difference). Upon opening the cooler, I was extremely pleased that all items were intact and everything that was supposed to be frozen was still frozen. I did notice, however, that the frozen spinach had started to thaw slightly and that one container of yogurt that was too close to the frozen items had started to freeze, but all in all, the investment was completely worth it. I would highly recommend this cooler for transporting food items via air travel. I cannot comment on how the cooler will perform in the hotter summer months, but will likely use it during that period of time (with ice packs) and update this review accordingly. Aesthetically, it's a smart looking cooler and did not suffer any major wear or tear from the airlines' handling except for a few dirt smudges. It's solidly constructed and I hope will last a long time. I will be recommending this to everyone I know looking to purchase a large cooler.

Great soft cooler
Great insulating quality. We use it for provisioning in the tropics. It kept a full load of frozen meats frozen for 2-3 hours in tropical temperatures (in the shade). We had a similar cooler that we bought at a boat show 15 years ago, and it just gave up the ghost last season (zipper seized), so we hope this one lasts as long.

Not Cool!
Should be a five from every aspect with one major exception, It leaked like a sieve. Day one following instructions from Polar Bear I filled about 1/3 of the cooler with warm water, 2/3rds to go. This is done to retain its shape because it is compression packed for delivery. It also allows you to clean the unit. Anyway unfortunately I never got that far as I was standing in a puddle. Amazon gives you two choices, replacement or a refund. I would have chosen the replacement if I was able to exchange for a smaller unit with the belief that the larger the bag the more stress on the seams...Anyway, I went for the refund because I wasn't sure the replacement would be any different. Given the way the cooler came packaged I can find no fault with Amazon. Although I don't always follow manufacturers instructions per se, I'm glad I did in this case because water is much easier cleaned up on a hardwood floor than it would have been if it soaked into the seats of a vehicle. Amazon always come through, I believe their customer service and delivery are unbeatable in an industry that in many cases talks of service yet doesn't deliver. However in saying that Polar Bear might want to research the effects that the compression packing has on their seams and correct it so their customers won't get discouraged with their purchase and have to go through the process of returning their newly purchased coolers.

Bulky - but well-made - and it works!
Weight (empty) is fairly high - due to robust cloth cover and thick insulation. Also, stiffness of pack resists rolling the flap over to the shape shown (rectangular) - It wants to stay wide at base/narrow at top.Strap carry works well when loaded, and supplies stay cool.Product is well-made.
