It fits on the larger side but I kept the xl because I didn't it to be tighter on the waistband. I have a bit of a tummy and thought if the waist band was too tight my stomach would protrude. I normally wear a size large at old Navy. Dress is very flattering, light weight, and pretty. Length was perfect on my tall frame and hits a couple of inches above my ankle.
