Does this product work well?

Yes. This gril lifter works very well, but not for the more inexpensive grills. Works great on my Weber gas grill grates.

Will this work for a Weber "Q" grate? They are very heavy and large.

I have no experience with the Weber “Q” grate, but I have a Weber Spirit II with a heavy grate and it works great.
