Please remove Linux support it does not work on Ubuntu 16.04 17.01 Centos 6 or 7 any claim that it does is a lie there is extensive documentation that the Realtek chip this is based on does not yet have a driver for Kernel 4 and above. Until then if you buy this without reading my warning good luck. Unless you want to purchase a 20 dollar wireless USB and write your own driver be my guest.

It works fine what more can I say.
Got it fast and setup wasn't too difficult. Works great just as described. I'm not a wireless techy so I won't go into any of the technical stuff but I'm happy with the function and operation of this USB wireless adapter as to the price and function. There are so many different adapters on the market and this one had pretty good feedback which is what I based my purchase on. It works great.

Impressed, but not blown away. Moderate improvement.
I wanted to improve my connection speed and minimize drop outs that have become more normal than not.Immediately before install: Ping: 23 ms Download: 49.97 mbps Upload: 5.88 mbpsImmediately after install: Ping: 27 ms Download: 71.42 mbps Upload: 5.91 mbpsThe connection is more stable as I have gone several hours without a drop out. I'd say that it's an improvement. I wouldn't say that I was blown away, but I'm happy so far. If something changes, I'll update the review. As a baseline, if I connect via ethernet, I usually get about 150 mbps (200 mbps service). I am about 40 feet away from the wifi router through 2 walls. The signal strength is listed as 100%. The link quality is listed as 96%.I did not use the provided mini cd for the drivers. I used the download link in the amazon sales page. It worked with no issues. Everything was up and running in about 4 minutes from when I opened the box.

Great throughput and does not drop the signal!
Works great, doesn't drop the signal like my little USB dongle used to. It's fairly large, very adjustable antennas, but you need to have space for it. It came with a corded USB dock which would probably be needed for use with a laptop, but I am using this in a small format desktop PC, plugged into a USB port on the front of the case. I am able to connect to both network bands (2.4 and 5G), and throughput is excellent. When I speedtest the network from the PC using this adapter, I get almost maximum download speeds. I'm happy with it. It was a lot less expensive than buying a new PC, which I was considering because of timeouts and slow response times. This did the trick!

Great product with a couple drawbacks
I would say it's quite powerful however I feel like it has moments where it drops and the most annoying part is that the application needs open for the hotspot. There is no way to keep it running hidden in the background because if you close the screen the Wi-Fi is disconnected.. overall worth the money and amazing if you live somewhere your pre existing Wi-Fi doesn't reach.

Don't install the Wi-Fi utility
such a big antenna I would think it would be much faster. Good signal strength though.Precaution: don't install the Wi-Fi utility that comes it. It interferes with the windows Wi-Fi utility and causes the unit to disconnect. Once I uninstalled the utility that was on the disc, the connection has been stable.

it use a pretty generic driver that was plug in and play for ...
Works as expected. Using it on a basement computer because wiring isn't currently a feasible option. We have a 100mbps internet plan, on 5g it runs 100-115mbps, on 2.4g it runs 70-85mbps. (Interference, distance, etc have a lot to do with that.) Didn't have to use the mini-cd or download a driver either, it use a pretty generic driver that was plug in and play for me. I have had it for a couple weeks and hasnt died yet like some of the other reviews stated, knock on wood.

Don't expect anything long-term.
Works well, but after hardly a month of owning the thing, I'm already having issues with it spontaneously disconnecting and staying disconnected until I unplug it and plug it back in. I'm thinking I'll steer clear of any dongle with a visible antenna after this one inevitably goes out within the year, and I suggest anyone else looking for a longterm wireless solution do the same.
