Tefal KI260F Maison Kettle, 1.7 L - Copper - Superb Kettle
This kettle was reduced to almost half price with free delivery. Fantastic value. Price reduction was only for the copper colour kettle. Not my first choice of colour, but five years later this kettle is still in perfect condition. Previous kettle was also a Tefal and lasted ten years. Kettles generally are notorious for failing, but so far both of my Tefal kettles have kept their durability and longevity.

Little Boiler
Excellent kettle and easy to use. Most importantly it pours without dripping. Lid can be tricky to remove but kettle is easily filled through the spout. It is noisier than plastic kettles and can sound like a little boiler, but one soon gets used to it. Good looking in copper. Overall I am well pleased.

Slow toasting
It's very attractive but I have to toast every thing twice.

Can you spot what's wrong?
I have a bad track record with kettles as none seem to last me past 2 years! They either start leaking, or the persex windows crack or I melt the cable if I inadvertantly leave the cable hanging over onto the cooker, which is why I had to replace my last kettle with this one, the Tefal K1260A. I read some of the reviews beforehand and would agree that yes, it's a bit on the noisy side when boiling, but then most kettles are, and yes, the lid is a bit tight, but better that than being on the loose side. All in all, I am happy with the kettle, after all, it does do what it's supposed to do, which is boil water. It also suits my decor, so what's not to like? Well, I've included a photo, so can you spot what's wrong? Some of my friends say send it back, some say it was possibly made for the Australian market, some say it would drive them nuts to have this in their home, but I'll let you all decide!!

Sturdy kettle
Very pleased with this kettle. Build quality is very good. Lid takes a little effort to pull off but that's fine - you wouldn't want it falling off and we previously found that the convenient flip up lids of other kettles are easily broken, so this one should last a long time. We don't find it noisier than the average kettle. The brushed stainless steel looks smart but does need polishing up to remove water marks and grease from fingers, but not a problem.

Excellent toaster
Always liked Tefal toasters. Had other makes, but none that gives such a uniform browning of the toast. It does take a little longer to toast the bread, but the results are worth the wait. Do agree with others that the extra lifting levers to raise the toast higher to enable easier removal, are a bit of a waste of tjme. However, still highly recommend this toaster.

Pricey
UPDATES AT THE ENDI bought this to replace a Philips kettle that I'd had for over ten years (I couldn't get a replacement base for the Philips but the kettle was still fine). Initially I found the Tefal irritating, simply because it was different, but I've had it now for six weeks and have got used to it.When I bought mine it cost £49.99 but I see that some colours have come down £10 in price. Although it's a good kettle I still think that's expensive. I have a Tefal kettle in France which is just as good and even has options for how hot you actually want the water and that cost me about £20 about three years ago (and the filter is much more efficient). The Maison kettle here is more basic, but at least it's metal and has a nice brushed finish. It looks good!So I'm quite happy with it now, but I've given it only four stars because I think it's overpriced.UPDATE: I've been using the kettle now for more than two months now and I am less satisfied with it. I'm dropping my review to two stars for these reasons:1. The lid is quite difficult to remove. Anyone with arthritis in their hands would have problems.2. The filter is loose and falls out if the kettle is inverted3. The filter is inefficient. I drink tea without milk and it should be clear but it is cloudy.FURTHER UPDATE - SUMMER 2018: I have now had this kettle for less than two years and the knob that you grip to remove the lid has broken off (because it was too difficult to remove the lid). This means that I can't remove the lid and so I have to fill the kettle through the spout! It's now down to one star for satisfaction.FINAL UPDATE - MARCH 2019: After only two and a half years the kettle has finally died. R.I.P
