The book is well written and will be useful to those who believe in this stuff. Th book is well researched, meticulous, authentic and honest about cultural historical past. However, I have a bone to pick, almost 20 years ago while writing for Chitpavanism book we analyzed Y chromosome Short Tandem Repeat STR genetic markers for few families and found NO scientific basis for concept of Gotra.There is no correlation to consanguinity, heredofamilial disorders, or congenital diseases due to Gotra mismatch. Unfortunately, our sample size was small. Gotra classification is found in many communities other than Brahmins in Indian diaspora. It is an old adage. Believe it or not is up to the reader.
