The Bare Pair King Kombo - Body Hair Management System (w/ Exfoliating Glove)

Alright, usually I don't do much direction reading or spot testing--I just jump in for better or worse--but this isn't an area where I was to start rubbing $#!7 on haphazardly. And I hate shaving. It's time consuming, short-lived, and no matter what I do I end up with horrible razor burn and ingrown hairs. Which looks sketch. There were plenty of negative reviews, so I was wary of trying this product, but I desperately wanted an alternative to shaving. It came today, and negative reviews fresh in my mind, I decided to go ahead and do the spot test just to be on the safe side. A) I wanted to make sure it would effectively remove hair before I slathered it all over, and B) I wanted to make sure it wouldn't cause unbearable pain and suffering. I applied the Bare Balm to a quarter sized-area. I waited the minimum 12 minutes and then wiped it away with my finger. Some hair came away, but I couldn't tell if it would all come away and I wasn't feeling any discomfort so I left it on the additional three minutes. That seemed better, so I jumped in and "buffed" the area with the glove. Tada! Completely smooth! Haven't experienced any burning or irritation thus far. I did apply the Calm Balm. I'm going to wait the recommended 24 hours-ish and do the rest of the area. I haven't tried any scrotal de-hairing yet, so there's always the chance that a more sensitive area will have a negative reaction. So far, I'm pleased. I have relatively dark, medium-ish coarse hair, and this took care of it in 15 minutes, no problem. Make sure you get it rubbed in well so that that it can work its magic as close to the skin as possible. If I have anything new to report after the full application tomorrow, I'll be sure to update my review. Given what I've seen so far, I'd happily recommend it, and certainly have no desire to go back to the razor. UPDATE 3/19/2013 I decided I couldn't wait 24 hours to be all silky smooth, so I woke up this morning, waited a couple of hours, and decided to jump in. It had been about 15 hours since the spot test and there weren't any signs of irritation, so I decided to take the plunge. I applied it everywhere except my balls, set a timer for 15 minutes, waited for 2 minutes to elapse, and then applied it to my balls as well. As the timer got closer to 0, I started checking, but ended up going the full 15 minutes. I didn't apply the Bare Balm as thickly as I had during the spot test, and I was concerned that that would effect my results. I jumped in the shower, rinsed off, and "buffed" myself with the glove. For the most part I was smooth, and rubbing or lightly scratching in areas that still had hair caused it to come right off. However, there were a few areas where I knew I hadn't gotten the balm on very thick, especially on my balls, and those areas still had clumps of hair. I knew that these kind of products would burn the skin if left on too long or applied too frequently, but it was so gentle that I debated with myself about whether I should do a second application to get rid of the hair I'd missed. After all, I didn't have any irritation in the area where I'd done the spot test. Ultimately, vanity won out. Big mistake. Not immediately, though. My balls were the primary area where I needed to re-apply the balm. That made me a little nervous. I applied it and set a timer for 10 minutes. I massaged my balls every couple of minutes or so to make sure all the hair was well coated. There wasn't any burning or discomfort to indicate that I was being burned, but luckily I had decided to massage the product into my balls to make sure I got anything. At the 6 or 7 minute mark, I noticed some red splotches on my balls and I knew I was getting chemical burns, even if I didn't yet feel any discomfort. I rushed to the shower and rinsed off as quickly as possibly. There was some pain and discomfort, but not nearly as bad as it would have been had I not been paying attention, and only in a couple of small spots. I've applied the Calm Balm, and now that I'm sitting and relaxed there isn't any discomfort at all. I'm going to be taking it easy on my balls for a bit, though. On the plus side? It got rid of the hair. Given my experience, here are the tips I have: 1. Trim with an electric trimmer, where possible, so that you'll be able to apply the balm easily and nearest the roots as possible 2. Skip the sticks and use latex gloves to apply the balm 3. Apply it as thick as you think need it, and then apply some more 4. Massage it into you skin every couple of minutes or so to ensure that every single hair gets completely covered for as much of the time as possible 5. As you approach the 10 minute mark, start scraping or pulling at the hair to see if it comes off 6. As soon as the hair starts coming off easily, jump in a lukewarm shower and rub it off with the glove; you'll probably have to rub pretty vigorously, and if you wear glasses, just aim low with the shower head and wear them in with you so you can see what you're doing 7. Pay attention, visually, to what's happening on your skin. Even if there isn't any burning or discomfort, check for red splotches (especially on the balls) and rinse it off immediately if you notice any. 8. The glove may not remove all of the hair, but that doesn't mean that the hair isn't ready to come out. Spend a few minutes massaging or lightly scratching the area to get rid of any remaining hair. 9. If you missed spots, trim them with scissors and leave them alone. Definitely do not go through with a second application, and for the love of all that is holy, do not get mesmerized by how gentle this stuff is and leave it on for 20 minutes. DON'T DO IT! 10. Apply the Calm Balm to soothe the area, and presumably help prevent ingrown hairs, should that be a problem. 11. If the Bare Balm was applied thick enough, and left long enough, you should be nice and smooth. You might have some light stubble in some areas. As the skin relaxes and the area gets massaged by clothing and what have you, stubble should disappear. If it doesn't, make sure the hair is well-coated next time and try leaving the balm on for an extra minute or so. I hope these tips help. Don't be stupid.

I'm now on my second solution of Balls hair removal product for men. I've been using it for about 3-4 months now. Before using Balls I was shaving my man region. Each time however left me generally scared for the two berries hanging below. After hearing about this from a friend, I decided to give it a try. I left the applicant on for 10-12min each time(recommended 7minutes) because my hair is a bit course and stubborn. I'd then get in the shower and the water would wash off the majority of the hair. A dry rag could then be used to remove any of the hair that was still on your stick and balls, lol. The glove is a nice addition but it loses the roughness of the material it's made from. But hey..when it does you still have a glove. The cooling balm is helpful whether or not you use the actual hair removal product. It's cool and refreshing and makes your junk smell good!! Be warned, if you leave the product on for too long(depends on the person) you will get that burning sensation. It's not bad and you do eventually get used to it. The cooling balm also helps out greatly! The first time you try this product, and unless you've tried other hair removal products as well, you'll again notice that burning sensation. It's by no means painful at all. More of a notification that you've put something on your balls/pubic region. I'll continue to purchase this product as it's easy to use and wonderful. The little applicator sticks that are included are great for evening out the solution on your body as well. +5 starts!!

ballsBalm is a solid product when it comes to removing hair anywhere on your body, besides your face. This product would actually work for woman too for their legs, etc. This does make you smooth when used correctly, and assuming you don't miss any spots. The bottle says to leave on for 10 minutes but I found 7-8 minutes works best for me, I suggest you start in that range before doing the full time as that's how I started. However, this product needs to be used daily if you don't like having stubble. This can become costly, if $15 is a lot to you for something like this then you might be better off sticking to your shaving. I will point out though that if you're able to afford The Bare Pair 'Threesome' King Kombo you should consider buying if you believe you can keep up with daily use of this product. In my opinion this is a lot better than having cuts, and bumps from shaving. You skin looks a lot better and does feel smooth afterwords. You're better off using this in the morning rather than the night before. If you do it in the morning you will find you can make it until the next day before needing to do it again, in most cases. If your hair grows back slowly then you might be okay with using this every other day. But for you "rapid growers" you will need to mow the lawn daily. I have yet to get a burn using this daily, if you find the time that works for you and stick to it then you will be okay. You will however want your balls to be the last thing to do. I find that the timing is shorter on them, about 5-6 minutes rather than 8. Now the lotion it comes with is amazing, it stays on until I shower it off. I'm glad they sell that without the ballsBalm hair remover. I suggest you try it out rather than skipping over it. Overall I find this a great product to have, but at current price and the requirement to use it daily can break the bank if you have a low income. For this I give it 4/5 stars.

I just started using this stuff & it's great. I used a popular (and overpriced) body wash (with which I have an AXE to grind) that did not get along with my groin area. After enduring several days of itching, I decided to shave to see what was going on down there. Well, I had a rash. After shaving, I added shaver burn and ingrown hair. Great. But, I decided I liked the feel of being hairless and continued to shave. So, I ordered this combo pack. Per the instructions, I applied a test amount of the exfoliant. After 10 minutes, I removed it. The area where it was applied was absolutely smooth, whereas stubble could be felt elsewhere. No rash, no burning, no funny smell. About 8:00PM, I applied the balm over the entire shaved area. It was not sticky and dried quickly. My only -- and minor --- complaint is that it is a bit liquidy, so it tends to leak out of the tube quickly. As soon as I put it on, the area felt much better. Once it "dried" - it doesn't really get dry, but isn't wet, either --- I could not really feel it being there and no residue got on my sheets. The next morning, when I got up, I discovered my rash was almost entirely gone! What a pleasant surprise! As a bonus, I applied it to an itchy scratch on my ankle and it immediately stopped itching. Well, having experienced no negative skin reaction to the test area, I plan to use the exfoliant over the whole area tonight. I'll update this review after I see the results. UPDATE: So I used the exfoliant in earnest and the news isn't entirely good. First, shortly after applying it, it began to burn. Not horribly, but more than just a little. My skin is about of average sensitivity. So, I don't hold this against the product. Skin burn from exfoliants is a common thing among a good portion of the population. It's just part of the deal. Anyway, following the instructions, after 10 minutes (the minimum), I went into the shower and used the glove. Then I thoroughly washed the area off, with a hand held shower head. The stuff worked great specifically on my balls. They were completely smooth and were not at all irritated. The rest of my pubic area, however, was an entirely different matter. On the upper area, it did no better than my electric shaver (not a pubic hair shaver). Worse, by the time I got out of the shower, my whole pubic area, except for my balls, was burning. Where skin meets skin where my groin area and legs meet, it was very painful and extremely red. I put the balm on, which began to cool things down immediately (although it stung when first put on. By the next morning, the area was significantly healed. So, the balm is great stuff. Okay, it is possible I put too much exfoliant on. It is possible I scrubbed too hard. It's even possible --- although very unlikely --- I didn't get all of it off. So, my downgrade from 5 stars isn't because of the burning; it's because of the so-so results on other than the balls. And this: According to the instructions, one is not to use soap, body washes, etc., when exfoliating in the shower. So, unless you are able to seal off your pubic area, you can't actually shower while doing this. So, it has now become a major inconvenience for daily use. Since it worked very well on my balls, I may occasionally use it there. But, generally, it's back to my regular shaver and Body Bare shaver (both of which will nick).

I've been using this product now for a few weeks and have had poor results. With each use, I've applied a generous amount on the areas I wanted to see hair removal. The first time I used it, I left it on for 10 minutes. Very little, if any, hair came out. It should also be noted that the hairy area had been trimmed maybe two weeks prior, so I started out with my hair already under pretty decent control. The second time I left it on for 12-14 minutes. A little more came this time, but the result was odd. Despite the fact that I coated my hair with the product all the way down to the roots, it didn't come out at the roots. Instead, it more or less dissolved the hair above the roots, leaving a ragged, inconsistent look over the area where the product was applied. The third time I left it on for 15-17 minutes, applying a much more generous amount than ever. Once again, the hair dissolved in patches, never all the way to the root. Some areas were completely unaffected. Pretty much at this point I realized that I wasn't going to get a better result than this, and, noticing that the Balm had brought my hair length down enough to do a decent shave, shaved in the shower immediately after scrubbing the product off with a washcloth. Accusations have been levied that the positive reviews for the Bare Pair were written by employees of the company who produced this product. This may be true, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and believe some people out there probably have had good results with this product. I did not, this did not work for me as advertised and was a complete disappointment. I do not have excessively coarse or unusual hair where the product was used. I don't know what kind of hair you need to have for this to work on you, but know that your mileage may vary, so buy this product with caution!

I’ve never used one of these hair removal creams, but I’m impressed. I followed the directions exactly and had no issues whatsoever. Here’s what I learned, though. If you have a lot of hair, don’t expect to be “slick like a dolphin” after the first go. It takes a couple of applications for that. Remember, it uses chemicals to “burn” the hair off. The package says to wait a few days between treatments and I choose to trust that. If you want to be smooth for a “special occasion,” plan ahead by 3-4 days. It has a slight odor, but it’s not unpleasant like I was led to believe. Reminds me of Spanish cedar and chocolate. It does leave a tiny bit of stubble, but no worse than shaving. Also, it takes about the same time as shaving, but no nicks or bumps. Thumbs up on that one. Bottom line... if you’re interested in trying it, try it. I think you’ll be happy. Update: I've been using this about 3-4 times a year for nearly three years without an issue. Results are good every time with no redness or major irritation. Even though I'm using this for the full recommended time (12-15 mins) on a very tender region, the discomfort is only very minor for one to two days after. It does sometimes "miss" a few hairs, but I'll chalk that up to user error. Those are easily dealt with through other methods, though. I have also learned that there are fewer misses if you use it more often. Maybe all the extra wool prevents you from making good contact at the root? Just a guess. At any rate, after nearly 3 years, I'm still giving it 5 stars.

I was a little skeptical. I've shaved for years and years, I've used other defoliants. I ordered this product and tried it today. This stuff is great. The only "sting" i had was when I applied the after-balm. That didn't las tong, and I feel soooo smooth. It's great. Granted, I'm been smooth for years and change-up between shaving & other hair removal products. It has not irritated my skin in the least and I did as the name says, did bare my b@llls. I'm going to order more. I really like this. Report back how long it lasts versus other products I've tried. Update 03/31/2014 After about 2 days since the first application, I noticed hair growing back; however, this hair was very different. It was softer, smaller, and more sparse! Ok, no this did cause me to shave a bit, but overall, it was a joy because it took way less time. Now after a few months and not grooming, I decided to try it again. I don't like using these kinds of products unless there is a decent amount of hair growth. It's taken this long for the hair to grow enough. Could be just me or the product, I'm unsure, but similar products never made my pubic hair softer and different like this did. Just did a second trial with this product. I had slightly more irritation, but it went away quickly. Irritation, in fact, might be too harsh a word as it was more a tingling discomfort that quickly subsided. I should add, it wasn't due to the balm, but the suggested moisturizing lotion! The lotion is fun and slippery and does have a cooling effect. Anyway, with shaving occasionally since the last time, this stuff worked wonders. I still love it.

Okay I am not going to lie, I did not think this would work, but for $15.99 I said why not and ordered it. This is by far the best thing that $15.99 could buy. I don't like hair down there, so I shave just like most guys, but it's like being tortured. I have sensitive skin and have yet to find a pain free way to do this, until now! I followed the instructions 100% and in about 20mins (13 for waiting per instructions and the rest of the time washing the hair away) I am now hair free and smooth. No pain, a slight burning feeling, but not uncomfortable. I will have to say that the smoothing cream how ever did burn a lot! I think that it might just be my sensitive skin. I have average hair type not very coarse. I have heard that it don't work on some hair types. My two friends are going to try it next. One has hair like mine and the other has that Itailan coarse hair. I will post an update after they try it. Give it a try whats $15.99 to try something! !!!!!THIS STUF WORKS!!!!!
