8MILELAKE Compact Air Needle Scaler Rust Remover Needle Scaler Air Tool

I haven’t used one of these since my early navy days. Brought back bad memories of working 19 hour days in the shipyard. This tool works for rust, scale and concrete epoxy removal. Two drops of tool oil every hour of use will keep the diaphragm lubed up. Works great and durable.

Excellent air needle scaler from 8MileLake. I used it remove rust on my Toyota Sequoia which did an excellent job removing the scale off. I put a lot of hours on the scaler and it kept up with my job. Once the rust was removed underneath my Sequoia, I was able undercoat the frame of my vehicle with Fluid Film.

I've only used it a couple of times but it seems to be of very good quality workmanship and works just fine. Not overly lengthy or heavy. I think it's a good value. One thing to be aware of, and no fault of the scaler. A 1/4" air connector came with it in the box. I wasn't sure which part to unscrew to install it, so the first thing I unscrewed was the large nut on the end of the scaler. The opening was too large for the 1/4" connector. Thinking it should have fit, so I looked a little closer. On the end of the large nut, is a thin, knurled disk. THAT is what you need to unscrew to install the 1/4" connector! It is threaded to match the 1/4" air connector. I screwed the 1/4" connector into the large nut, and then the large nut back into the scaler....success! The large nut goes in without leaking, but I had to use teflon tape on the 1/4" one to get a good NPT thread seal...pretty much standard for an air fitting.

I've only used this for a week, but for the price it performs well. It's perfect for light to medium jobs, and all welding that produces slag. The true test will be long term durability. Amazon has needle replacements, so as long as this scaler keeps functioning It's a big win!

Small but PLENTY of power. Works great and with the smaller size its good for getting in tight spaces.
