BMW Genuine Music Media Adapter Cable For Ipod Iphone 61122408012

We have used this in our 2009 BMW Z4 to give full control from the car controls to access albums / artists etc on the ipod and all works great unlike cheaper versions i tried that did not work from steering wheel controls etc

There are three consistent problems:1) cable is ridiculously short so I’ve had to buy an extension cable.2) the Music app crashes every time I use the controls on my steering wheel.3) I have just over 1000 songs in my commute playlist but when I press shuffle only 6 will play before looping back to the first. I have to continually press shuffle to get a different set of 6 songs.Absolute waste of money. Wish I hadn’t bought it. My £8.99 version, that doesn’t allow me to use the controls on the steering wheel, is far more reliable so will revert to using that and the controls on my Apple Watch. I tried the cable without the extension and the problems still occur.

Works with my 2012 1 series. Can control Apple music through the steering wheel and iDrive. Only problem is that when I initially plug it in it doesn’t work and I have to replug/change media output a few times to get it to play music, which is annoying. Also this is expensive af.

For the money this was a waste of time. I hoped to be able to plug in the phone, tuck it away so it's out of sight and hide the cables. However it's clearly from a bygone age and whilst you cannot compare it to CarPlay, it should at least do what it says on the tin. I got this for my wife's MINI and it's pointless, we will just use bluetooth audio now from the phone.The cable itself has a huge fat adaptor in the middle which is needed to split the audio into the aux-in and data into the USB-in (I know, right?). The cable is very short (about half the length of a standard Apple Lightning cable). This means you are restricted on where you can actually place the phone. If I had been able to hide it then this wouldn't have been a problem but the thick cable and fatty adaptor meant hiding anything is impossible. Occasionally the aux cable comes loose (please BMW??) and the audio breaks up. Just not worth the expense.This then unlocks the BMW/MINI features (appreciate it's not the cable, but it is the *point* of having the cable). There are a limited number of supported apps; Amazon Music, Spotify, Audible, TuneIN etc, so I knew what I was getting and I use them all in CarPlay. However each one was buggy. Some worked for a while then stopped. Others caused the head unit to restart (??!!). Occasionally they worked and seemed great. Until I plugged my phone in again the next time and... nothing! I had to plug/unplug/disconnect etc multiple times and it would appear again.The official "MINI connected" apps are all very low-star with poor ratings all round (I should have known better) and these especially are extremely slow and fiddly to use even if you were sat still, let alone behind the wheel. I do not expect that of BWM MINISo I didn't expect too much, but even then I was disappointed in what I got.Final slap in the face was when I returned it and BMW charged me for the postage! (which even the smaller Amazon sellers don't do)

The cable is so short that it is just useless. I have a 3 series (2014) and with the cable being so short, the only place you can store your phone when connected is in the arm rest. Useless if you're wanting to use it as satnav or similar. As if that wasn't enough, the charging rate on it is so poor that it just about stops my phone battery from dying, but won't actually charge it. Needlessly expensive and about as flawed as it could be. Terrible piece of kit, just buy yourself an AUX cable!

This adapter cable works perfectly with all the Z4 s functions through my IPhone 6

Bought this to replace my original iPhone 30pin adapter as it is almost impossible to find new 30pin to lightning connectors and mine is frayed. I have a 2013 Mini Countryman with MINI Connected and this adapter works great for music and control. The image showed the adapter listing Media, but the one I received is Music/Media, so I suspect it just had the wrong image. I ordered based on the model number shown. My only complaint would be the one I had with the original adapter I got with the car, which is horrible connection placement (below hand brake) and way too short cord.

My old one died and after talking with my BMW dealer service guy, I was very lucky to have a had a good number of years out of it. It finally died and I found this new one and installed it and it didn't work. The BMW tech said these never did work well or long and often not at all so BMW discontinued them. I wrote BMW about this and they refused to acknowledge a known defective part nor refund my $100! The reality is that I probably got one of the last ones available.

ottimo cavetto audio per collegamento i-phone per connessione auto BMW ,peccato solo che dovrebbero fare il cavetto un pò piu lungo, comunque con una prolunga usb si risolve il tutto.consiglio l'acquisto.
