Perfect solution!
This thing works great! My family has hand sharpened their own knives for years so I know that you have to FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS very carefully when using a sharpener like this. If you don't follow the instructions, to the letter, you end up with issues. So, anyone purchasing this sharpener, please follow the instructions. There's also a youtube tutorial, not sure the link, just search using the name of the product, or go to their website. I'm very glad I purchased this product, sharpened my blade quickly and easily. Will save me lots of money since I won't have to purchase new blades so soon/often. Keep in mind, though, you can only sharpen your rotary blades so many times before they will need to be replaced. AND you must take care of your sharpener... again... follow their instructions! :-)

Exactly as advertised.
I was tired of throwing away all the rolling cutter blades I use for a little while until they're dull. As a professional seamstress, I use a *lot* of them and it gets expensive, at $6-7 per package of five, less if you can find a coupon or something to use.So I ordered this one and yes, it works well. It's like a reverse paper cutter; you leave the blade in the rolling cutter and run it up and down through this sharpener. However, the one reason I really bought this one was to get more use out of the blades that might have a bit of a knick in them, you know, there you might have run up against a pin or something while cutting out a piece. It takes very little to make a blade skip in the cutting, sometimes on a new blade and then it's no good. And this sharpener doesn't *do* that; it says that clearly in the instructions. It only sharpens, it doesn't get out the dings. *sigh* So I'll get a bit more use out of some blades but it's not as great as I'd hoped it would be.I need to find something that re-grinds the little buggers back to true and sharp.

I'd give it 100 stars if I could!
This is a product that I've been considering for years. The sharpeners I'd seen previously were little round battery operated jobs and I wasn't convinced they would work all that well. This one looked sturdy, and it is! I was so tired of fighting dull, skipping rotary blades - and it seems like you've just put a new one on and don't have any more new left, when you're right in the middle of a project... Frustrating. And considering the cost of blades, I'm all for getting more use out of them! This device is heavy. Well, it's sharpening stones, like grandpa used! It takes maybe 30 seconds to sharpen a blade (don't even have to take the blade out of the cutter). And even if the blade isn't as perfect as a brand new, as some reviews mention, it's pretty darn close. And when it starts to dull, zip it through the stones again. SO convenient!! And SO easy!! I sharpened every rotary blade I could find within 5 minutes of opening the package (and I'm a bit embarrassed to say, I discovered I have quite a few, lol!) Pay attention to the directions; equal passes in each direction ensures a quality 'like new' edge. This device is well worth purchasing and I recommend you get one! I feel it will be something that will be passed on to future generations, it's so sturdy and useful.

You cant always go by the reviews!!
Although some reviews were less than favorable I went ahead and ordered this sharpener. While waiting for it, I watched several videos on youtube on how to use this sharpener. Well it came in yesterday, this am I ran it thru the first set of sharpening strokes. Tried cutting thru 4 layers of fleece, it worked pretty good..at least better than before sharpening. So I ran it thru another set of strokes and it was a little better, then a third set of strokes and it works great! I did have to make a second cut, but that was ok to me. So maybe the other reviewers gave up too quickly or didn't know you could watch a video on using it. As of right now, I am very pleased with it and would recommend it to anyone. I'll try it out on regular cotton fabric and add the results later. Ok, tried it on cotton fabric doubled, it took two swipes to cut just like it did with the fleece, which I am very happy with considering the cost of new blades. It is not going to cut like a new blade, only a new blade will cut like a new blade...so if that's what you expect you'll be disappointed. I am still very pleased with it and would still recommend with the caution I mentioned about it not slicing thru like a brand new blade.ok, it's been a few days and I am even more satisfied with this sharpener! I hope that those that tried it and said it didn't work would go back and try it again. I do recommend going to youtube and do a search for tru cut sharpener and watching it.

Blade Sharpener, I wish it is!
I am in a quilting guild and I purchase this item because I believed it would work perfectly especially since it was from the Grace Company. Members of the guild wanted to know if this sharpener would work on our rotary cutting blades. So I decided to be the tester. I went into this thinking of how much money I could save on sharpening my old dull blades and thus this item would pay for itself and then some. Unfortunately that is not the case. My blades became duller. So ot being the type of person to give up especially since pending apx $30.00, I and another guild member are trying to see if there is a special way to hold the rotary cutter when you are sharpening. I know it comes with directions but no good results. I am still trying to work on how to position my cutter on this tool. So far it is too much time for the money. I will keep you posted.

TRUECUT ROTARY BLADE SHARPNER
I TRIED TO SHARPEN THE BLADE WHICH WAS SUPPLIED WITH A CHINESE MADE ROTOR CUTTER. HOWEVER I TRIED, I COULDN'T SUCCEED. FINALLY I REALISED THAT THIS SHARPENER IS MEANT TO SHARPEN HIGH QUALITY STEEL BLADES SUCH AS OLFA, DAFA OR ANSIO AND NOT ANY NAMELESS CHINESE STEEL BLADES WHICH WERE DULL BEYOND REDEMPTION.. SINCE I DIDN'T WANT TO RUIN THE SHARPENER, I HAVE THROWN AWAY THE USELESS BLADES AND WILL TRY TO SHARPEN THE HIGH QUALITY BLADES WHEN THEY DO BECOME DULL. I MIGHT THEN GIVE A FRESH REVIEW.

Your rotary blade will never sharpen like a new blade.
It is used to sharpen rotary blades but i was a bit disappointed. It didn't sharpen as well as I had expected it would. I watched a video on YouTube and followed the instructions they recommended. It was a lot of money for the quality of the item. I would rather pay $2 and have them sharpened professionally.

Works, is convenient but sharpness is somewhat disappointing
This sharpener works and is convenient in that one does not have to remove the blade from the cutter. But my circular hand sharpener produces a sharper edge. The instructions clearly state that the blade will not be as sharp as new, which it isn't. But it does extend the life of the blade which, over time, would pay for the sharpener.

Sharpener
I have found that the sharpener was not quite as good as I was expecting it to be and the same sharpner other people have and. I liked the reading of it being easy to fit replacement sharpener blade, if and when needed. But you cannot buy these stones, Having MS and not good at gripping things I dropped the cutter and the stone broke in about 8 placesl, needless to say it does not work at all now. Being as it isn't all that old it works out expensive. Would not rexommend this.

A Great Working Sharper
I have used other blade sharpers, but was not happy with them. It wasn’t until I got the Grace Company TrueCut Sharper, that I finally found a great tool. It’s easy to use and dose a great job in sharping the dull rotary blades, but most of all you don’t have to take the blade out of the rotary cutter to sharpen that dull blade. That alone makes it safer and faster to sharping blades plus it will save on money in the long run.
