Brought my Inspirion 7706 2n1 back to life, well worth the price.

When I went looking for a power adapter It was suggested that you should buy a 65 watt one ,But I found out that the computer said on the screen that the optimal power adapter was a 90 watt one and I found out that a 65 watt one gets very hot while charging my laptop so I bought this one and it gets warm ,not hot ,and charges lickety split. I got no complaints ,so far.

I give Dell credit for sticking with its standard barrel connector for as long as it did before switching to a smaller one. Though, every time I look at my medium size box of power-bricks/wall-warts I’ve collected over the years, I wonder why laptop manufacturers haven’t standardized chargers and connectors all together (though we all know it’s for upselling). I could take that a big step further and wish that we had standard 6/12/24/48 VDC supplies/connectors for all electronics…with perhaps some minimal/varying amperage/sizing…which would have eliminated an unfathomable amount of power adapters currently located in closets and landfills. USB-C autosensing multi-voltage adapters and PD seems to be promising and a step towards that…so after 50 years of DC powered consumer electronics…yay! Anyway, the default smaller connector included with this charger fits and powers my Dell Latitude 3500 perfectly…and the adapter fits an older Dell laptop I have. So this adapter really does seems to fit “all Dell” laptops (to my current knowledge anyway…wattage depending). A 65W adapter would have worked for my laptop, but, though this adapter is a little bigger in form compared to the 65W adapters, I like that this provides 90W power…for versatility/future-proofing…(and faster charging depending on the computer). Bottom Line: Check the wattage requirements for your laptop…but this adapter seems to work for new and old Dell laptop computers.

I needed a new battery for my Dell Latitude 7480 since the battery charger decided to malfunction, so I decided to give this one a try as it appeared to be correct. I am super happy this one works with my laptop, and it appears that this company is matching Dell specifications as well. The voltage was tested with a meter, and it appears in putting the correct voltage out, which is a massive plus since it can be a hit or miss, and improper voltage can ruin the battery and/or laptop over time. It does come with a power cable, AC adapter, and even a converted power cord, which is fantastic! The first real thing I noticed when opening the box was that the AC adapter itself is lightweight and has a nice design, compared to many other AC adapters that are heavy and bulky. For the price, this AC adapter is well worth it!

We were able to confirm that the adapter works for all the Dell Laptops we have access to: - Dell Inspiron 17 i7 7773 2-In-One laptop (converts to tablet too) - Dell Inspiron 17 i5 5770 - Dell Gaming G3 3500 i5 To clarify further, all above laptops recognized the adapters (no BIOS or Windows errors) on start-up and also ran the computers, all accessories attached the computer even while charging the battery on high drain apps like minecraft and fortnite. Even after a few hours of use, the adapters were barely warm. The G3 gaming laptop made the adapter heat up more that the others, but it didn’t get hot. Of particular value was that short adapter to convert from the smaller version of Dell adapter version (barrel style) to the larger version! This was needed to connect to the Dell G3 laptop mentioned above. Overall, an excellent value. Would definitely buy again if needed.

At work I troubleshoot many different Dell devices. Chargers disappear all time, and I wanted to keep one handy so that I don't have to search for one when needed. I'm so glad to have this in my arsenal! It quickly charges laptops and tablets when I'm on the go. The best part is that I don't have to carry multiple chargers because it's a two-in-one. To keep up with the adapter attachment, I'm currently using a disposable twist tie to secure it to the cable when it's not in use. It's temporary until I can come up with a better solution, but so far so good.

I picked up a Dell OptiPlex 3060 SFF pc for a good price, but it didn't come with a power supply. This one does the trick without issue, and even reports to the BIOS the proper wattage. This is important, as Dells with limit their power consumption if they can't detect the power supply properly. This one works perfectly, and my OptiPlex has nothing bad to say about it. As for value, they are asking $26 with a 12% off coupon, which is a solid deal in my book. Just make sure you are getting the correct wattage for your application.

Update Feb 2024, this has now died, so I've revised my rating. It did great for several months, but gave up the ghost a couple of days ago. It now puts out about 7 volts and is therefore dead. I was using it on a machine that normally has a higher power rating, but the machine simply didn't charge very fast. The supply did not get any warmer than normal, but it could be that my usage was unfair to it. First, I received this as part of the Amazon "Vine" project, so did not pay for it. That said, Vine requests honest and anonymous reviews, so here goes: At this point, the package was received very promptly (next morning, a Sunday, as I recall). The power supply is rated at 90 Watts, but so far I've not had the chance to measure the actual output, but have no reason at this point to doubt it. It runs my Dell precision M4800 in "normal use" successfully, which has been the case in the past with an adapter of that rating. The Dell is designed for a 180W PSU, and it does note the lower power on startup, with a warning that it might draw from the battery. But to this point, it never has, neither have I noticed it get warm. The physical presentation of the product is pleasing, it's very small and light and the cables are as flexible as one would expect without feeling flimsy. As mentioned, this is pretty small (see the image) and light, and compared to the brick of a 180W adapter that this old machine came with (more recent Dell 180W PSUs, such as my wife has, are not such bricks, perhaps 30% larger than this one). I'm actually at the airport today and taking this adapter in preference to the official one, based on that size and weight. It comes with two connectors, one fatter one on a short extension cable that I use for my very old Dell, and the integrated one on the main cable which is the slimmer connector associated with newer Dell machines. I plan to update this review in a few weeks after I've exercised the product and can perhaps make more detailed comments about durability, actual power output, or anything else that might only be determined over longer usage.
