I was looking for a smart plug for holiday outdoor lighting, a plug where they would connect to Wi-Fi and I can easily control it from my phone. Well this device does just that plus more than I actually expected.It’s build quality is solid and tough, and it does have two plugs on the bottom of the unit, each plug can operate independently of each other through the smart phone application.This outdoor outlet plug, can safely be used outdoors, and resists water easily as long as it’s elevated from the ground and points downward.Set up is very easy with the Smart Life app which you can download, and many smart Wi-Fi devices that you can buy, all use the same application; and if you already have a device out of the dozens of different items you could have across different manufacturers in the app, setup is super easy, because it already knows your Wi-Fi password and it pairs and connects literally in 10 seconds.If you don’t have anything already registered in that app, all you’re doing is initially creating an account, putting in your Wi-Fi credentials, and again connecting your first device. It literally just takes a matter of seconds and you’re up and running.Once in the app, you see each port on the outlet plug individually, you can turn them off together, on together, turn the first one on or off, turn the second on or off, you can even set schedules for the first port and the second port independently, as far as when they come on, when they go off, and the time frame in which they operate.I really could not be happier with this product, it seems like with devices like these, we have finally arrived in the future. For the future of technology and the ease of use, I love how you can have so many items now at complete control from your mobile device.One other thing I’d like to mention, anything that’s connected in the Smart Life app, is cloud controlled, which means you do not have to be at home or anywhere near your home to actually control anything and any device that’s in that app, which is truly remarkable among beyond almost any other major product line!

It uses the smart life app which is becoming pretty much the standard for these new devices hitting the market. As I show in the video, this installs easily and quickly right out of the box. It took me 4 minutes from opening the box to having Alexa turn it on and off with voice commands.Each of the 2 plugs can be controlled together or separately. As you can see in pictures, the device installed with the default name of Smart Outdoor Plug. Then when you click on it in the smart life app, you can see that it used the default names of Switch and Switch 1. That is also the way Alexa found it. I had a device called Smart Outdoor Plug. When you control that, you control both of the plugs. It also added Switch and Switch 1. You can also control those individually through Alexa.This smart plug seems very well made and durable. It is responsive to commands and turns on and off with very little lag. There is also a way to set a timer in the Smart Life app for each plug individually. I will probably set this up that way for my outdoor string of twinkle lights on my porch.

This past Christmas holiday, I had purchased several smart plugs to control our Christmas tree and other interior decorations. I thought having an outdoor smart plug for all our outdoor lighting would be great, so I found this Maxcio plug and decided to purchase it now. It is very well constructed and seems very durable. It has dual AC ports - perfect for my front and rear Christmas decorations. The unit is compact at approx 4"x3" and has a short, heavy-gauge lead which connects to your outdoor outlet and keeps it off the ground.To test it, I connected it to an outdoor flood light. The setup with the app was fairly simple and took less than 10 minutes, including pairing it with Amazon Alexa. Not only can you control the plug from the app and/or Alexa, but you can also schedule the plug to come on or off at different intervals. Best of all, each AC port on the plug can be programmed individually. I have been testing it for a few days and have not had any issues with this smart plug. It's even rained a couple of times. I couldn't be happier!
