This is proper 3M VHB 5925 foam tape and it lives up to the reputation. Bond strength is excellent on clean surfaces and it holds up well in heat. Official ratings show long-term resistance to 200°F with short-term spikes higher than that, so summer sun or warm walls are not a problem. I have used it for wall mounting and similar jobs where screws were not ideal. Once it sets it is very difficult to remove cleanly, which is exactly what you want for permanent installs. The main trade-off is the 0.025 inch thickness. It adds noticeable bulk compared to thinner tapes, so measure your clearances first. That thickness is also what gives it the gap-filling and vibration resistance that thinner tapes lack. If you need maximum holding power and can accept the extra height, this is one of the better consumer options available.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I am an off-roader and needed a tape to mount my numerous gadgets in the cockpit of my truck. I really needed an adhesive that works in the southern climate inside my vehicle. 3M is always the winner when it comes to reliability and quality. After researching the best heat type adhesives, this brand and type were always top of the list. Ease of removal: The point of purchasing this adhesive is so that it bonded well and was NOT easy to remove. This has succeeded on that front in our recent temperatures in the south. The surface is painted with a clear coat where I mounted the tape, making this easy to remove residue with little effort and no damage. Heat resistance: PERFECT! Most adhesives become super soft and saggy in high heats then any item mounted will fall off. This adhesive was exactly what I needed to beat the southern heat. Works well: Easy to use and will remain a staple in my vehicle for all mounting purposes. It is thin enough to not add depth to any mounted item. Stickiness: The stickiest! I have gone thru 4 other mounting strips in my vehicle and this one is by far the best I have used. Adhesion: I am not sure what other surfaces this could be used on, but for my purposes this was the perfect adhesion. When you first pull it from roll, it does not appear to have a lit of stick, but this has out performed any other tape I have used. Size: This is perfect size for small or large items, since it is tape, you can cut it down for small items or use a few strips for larger items, but your adhesion improves over time - always wait a little longer for bonding to set before mounting an item to the tape.

I BEEN MODIFYING CARS SINCE THE 80’S SO I KNOW A THING OR TWO WHEN IT COMES TO USING ANY KIND OF DOUBLE SIDED TAPE FOR A CAR EXTERIOR TYPE WORK AND I ALWAYS PEFER 3M VHB CAUSE ITS THE BEST TIME AND TIME AGAIN AND I WOULDNT SAY THIS IS ORIGINAL FROM THIS SELLER BUT MAN THIS STUFF IS AS GOOD AS IT GETS. SO STICKY THAT THE SIDES STICK TO EVERYTHING WITHOUT IT BEING UNROLLED YET. YOU DONT EVER GET THAT WITH CHEAP QUALITY DOUBLE SIDED TAPES. SAYS 3M VHB ALL OVER BUT LOOKING AT THE INSIDE IT SAYS A FEW THINGS ORIGINAL 3M VHB DOESNT SAY, NONETHELESS I USED IT ALREADY ON A NEW GLOSS BLACK DOOR TRIM AND BECAREFUL CAUSE THIS STICKS AUTOMATICALLY! I WOULD DEFINITELY ORDER FROM THIS SELLER AGAIN CAUSE THE PRICE IS GOOD AND I CAN SAY THIS IS EXCEPTIONAL QUALITY!!

This tape worked well but only after I was able to remove the plastic shell from the exposed side of the roll. I think if the plastic protection was a little thicker, not much, it would be easier to get it started and then pull it off. Sticks well. funny; Alexa called it "tree meter tape", not the brand name.

This stuff works incredibly well. The bond is very strong. Used this to mount an arrow shelf on my bow riser.

This double-sided tape is wonderful! It’s strong, easy to use, and the possibilities for using it are practically endless. The longer it stays on a surface, the stronger the bond becomes. Just be sure to apply firm pressure when you install it, as the instructions recommend. If you follow the directions, this tape works great!

Very strong hold.

I do lots of video work as part of my job and I use this tape a lot for cables and other pieces of equipment. Definitely worth the investment, especially given the price.

As described, came fast, well packed.

Bought this after a bit of Googling suggested it was the sort of tape I needed to stick a petrol cap trim back on, and it has done the job extremely well. It arrived quickly, was well packaged and was very easy to apply. More importantly, once fitted it has stayed firmly in place with no flapping about, rattling, banging or trying to make a bid for freedom halfway down the road. The adhesive itself is excellent and feels properly strong. My only slight battle was with the backing tape. Getting that off was considerably harder than sticking the actual thing on. Fingernails, scissors and a knife were all drafted in at various points, and I did begin to wonder whether 3M had designed the backing as some sort of small dexterity test. That said, once I finally won the argument with it, the tape performed perfectly. Five stars from me. Excellent product, strong hold, and the petrol cap is still exactly where it should be.

Unbelievable level of adhesiveness. If you stick it with this, it stays there.
