Very sturdy plastic. At first I thought that this was silly, but now I wish I had bought one years ago!! It makes life SO much easier any time I am cooking burger (or anything with grease)!!! The base “lid” or container that catches the grease is so simple, yet so functional!! Pour the cooked meat into the strainer, (strainer sits snugly on the grease catcher) then you can pick up the strainer and keep cooking! Leave the grease to cool and then it is extremely easy to clean out!! I wish I had gotten one of these sooner!!

I’ve struggled for years to remove grease from hamburger and sausage, usually making a mess. This item solved that issue. It wasn’t real sturdy, cheaper plastic, but I think that won’t matter.
