Obaby Foam Cot Bed Mattress (140 cm x 70 cm)

I didn't even want to give this produce one star! I never write reviews but had to this time. The mattress arrived eventually after being delayed by DPD. As soon as we opened it it absolutely stank of plastic glue type fumes, so much so, it made both y husband and I a little nauseous! We had to let it air outside as any room it went in filled with this awful smell. We left it out for longer than the 48 hours recommended by the manufacturer, placed it in my sons room and lay him on it for an afternoon nap (i didn't fully trust it still to put him to sleep properly on it, but thought it was just in my head after the initial experience. I went in to his room after 10 mins and the whole room was filled with that awful chemical smell as well as my son's clothing and bed sheets stinking also! Needless to say the item has been sent back and awaiting refund. Awful product, cover is just a thin plain cover over a block of foam. You get what you pay for i suppose, lesson learnt. Be careful when purchasing this item.

I read a few reviews commenting on the smell which nearly put me off buying. I researched the product and found that Mothercare sells the same product on their website (the same price, I went with Amazon as its easier & convenient) so decided to order. The product arrived on time, the smell that people have complained about was faint (I had to hold it to my nose to the mattress to smell it) and obviously due to the packaging, I have it in my room and can't smell anything, The cover is also washable and I will probably wash with all other baby stuff ready for 'the arrival' so really can't see the issue.

We previously had a different mattress that was bought for us and my daughter hated it and would cry and kick until I took her into my bed, it was too springy and bouncy so we wanted a firm mattress that wasn't going to break the bank. We decided on this one. This is quite firm but we needed it for a 7 month old baby who had previously been using a chicco Next2me, the mattress for it is quite firm so I figured another firm mattress could do the trick. If your baby is used to a bouncy or soft surface for sleep I wouldn't recommend but honestly my daughter loves this mattress because of how similar it is to her first crib.Some reviews mention a chemical smell which it did have on arrival but nothing too severe. We aired it out for about a week near an open window and sprayed febreze on it. Not inconvenient for us. True to size. Well manufactured.

This is my 2nd obaby foam mattress, and not for the reason you think. It was perfect for my first daughter and I had to get a fresh one for my second.My daughter loved this mattress and used it from 8 weeks to 2 years. It wipes easy, it’s comfortable and durable, and when there’s vomit on it at 2am you can 1 arm flip it whilst holding a baby, once I used wipes to wipe it.The price of it is so good, I would recommend in a heartbeat.

This product arrive yesterday and looked good/ felt firm we removed the plastic wrapping and noticed it had a strange smell(but thought this may be just because of the plastic). We placed in our child’s bedroom within an hour the whole room smelt of damp - we have tried to air out the mattress but the smell is unbareable. Now left with a mattress we can’t use and can’t return because we removed the wrapping.

As per other reviews once opened the smell of chemicals was awful.Can't understand how a company can sell a baby product that has such a strong smell of chemicals. I aired this for almost two weeks and washed the cover and also placed two sheets on top before I used it.The 2 days of airing recommendation is not suffient unless you want chemical smell being inhaled by your precious child.I wasn't exactly pleased I had to go such lengths to use a product and thankfully this was for the in-laws cot rather than our main cot.The mattress itself is as per dimensions 120 x 60 and firm but soft as the same time. However if I was purchasing another cot mattress I would avoid the obaby brand and instead use Kinder Valley which I have purchased also in the past for a cot mattress and had no issues with.I made a mistake not sticking with Kinder Valley brand.

Great product at the price. He's slept on it quite comfortably since he was four months old. I did get a bit of stick for spending so little, as people get very paranoid about how important it all is in the context of SIDS, but this does fulfill all the requirements and is firm enough to prevent any dips forming.

Love this mattress! I have bought this mattress with two of my children while in their cott beds and they are brilliant! comfortable and come with a easy to remove waterproof cover.
