Start by saying I am a grown man and thought braces were no problemI was wrong. The back to the wire jamming into my mouth. It's almost intolerable. I tried several wax products till this product, works beautifully. I was seriously contemplating getting brand new braces removed and going to the visline now there hope lol

I bought this thinking it would be a more "natural" product to use over the wires in my retainer. Problem is- it's so rock hard that I can't bend it around the wires. You might be able to press the little "blocks" onto brackets on braces, but don't try to use this on a retainer.

My kiddo tried using this brace wax, but it doesn’t soften up as easily as other brands we’ve tried. Even after warming it up, it stayed pretty stiff and didn’t stick well to her brackets, so it wasn’t as comfortable as we hoped.

I like the fact that there are multiple little plastic clamshell containers full of wax. The wax is divided up into little pieces inside, too. I had a hard time getting the wax to become pliable enough to use it as it is intended. I have a tooth that has been chipped for a dreadfully long time. Over the years, it has continued to get sharper and sharper. I can't seem to get the wax to stick into place correctly, so I wind up with bit of wax breaking apart in my mouth constantly. I imagine that if I were placing the wax onto braces, the metal would give it many more firm places to latch onto. It doesn't adequately address my tooth issue, but I don't think that most people are ordering this for a chipped/sharp tooth.

Yes, beeswax is “hard” when you first take it out of the case. Some people have rated this 1 star as a result. But a simple experiment of heating it slightly in the microwave took care of that just fine. I tried 7 seconds in my 700W small microwave and nothing happened. Tried 30 seconds at a time and it got a bit softer. Tried 60 seconds and ended up melting it into a liquid. So I’m sure you can find just the right setting so your ease of use is perfect. The small size pellets are good for tight spots. The wax isn’t sticky and should have acceptable functionality. There are enough individual pieces that durability shouldn’t be an issue. In the picture, you can’t see the 1 missing piece from the corner that I ended up melting. :-)

I like the kind from the orthodontist better." She says it's really hard to form this wax into a ball to put on the bracket. Sometimes, if the kind from the orthodontist is hard to make into a ball, my daughter chew on it a little bit and that softens it up--she tried that with this stuff and it fell apart into a million tiny pieces and "you don't want those in your mouth." Our advice--just beg some wax off your orthodontist.

My daughter has been using these for a few weeks now, and it’s been a total lifesaver!
