This hedge trimmer has been great! It’s lightweight, easy to handle, and makes trimming hedges quick and effortless. I’ve used it around 20 times so far, and it’s still working perfectly. It has plenty of power for regular yard maintenance and is comfortable to use for longer periods. I’m very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it.

I caNNot say enough, how grateful I am to Amazon & Black+Decker companies, for making it possible to have this tool accomplish making my front & back yards look so much better! I was using an actual pair of kitchen scissors to cut hedges, bush & extremely overgrown weeds everything in my yards & flowerbeds. The hedgetrimmers I got, did everything so much better & easier! They are amazing! I love it & will use them on everything I can in the future! Im 65 years old, multiple heath problems & my husband is physically unable to care for lawn-landscape any longer. My new B+D is a literal lifesaver for my (formerly poor) lawn. I was unsure & kind of scared to use it, such a "big power tool," but I read the directions & picked it up & was blown away of how easy & safe it was to accomplish what I had planned. I was not sore & exhausted like before cutting everything with my scissors. My lawn looks great! It was a breeze! For a small cheap trimmer, this thing does the job! It won't trim huge trees but for smaller plants and hedges it is perfect. It's got plenty of power to cut through most material and corded, while less convenient, can cut for hours without stopping. At this price point it's been very durable and workable for household needs.

I have not used a corded outdoor power tool in 20+ years. Just as I remembered, dragging the cords in and out of the house and across vast expanses of yard was a major pain in the back and shoulders. Cord untangling and rewinding, yes I was forced to relive that too. However I read through many reviews of battery-powered hedgers that seemed disappointed by the lack of oomph and the shabby plastic or other unsatisfying materials that made for dull blades on the cordless. So I bought this one. The blades are quite strong, metal (steel?), super sharp. I had planned to spend a few hours trimming my roughly 20 boxwoods, but finished in under an hour--cutting time only. (Not set up.) It's fast. --As I went along I wondered why no one has invented a solar powered line of outdoor tools. Because, as I said, I was forced to recall how awkward it is to deal with cords. I used two normal outdoor cords equaling a length together of 60'. If I pulled at all on the trimmer, the linked extension cord pulled out of the handle--it happened 4 times or so. There is no way to tie it securely, as the power inlet on the trimmer is recessed into the handle: There's nothing to tie it to. The periodic unplugging disturbs the rhythm of the otherwise seamless, speedy cutting. Instruction pamphlet shows power cords tied together to prevent dislocation of power, which is deceptive or inaccurate: You can't prevent the occasional unplugging of the cord to the trimmer, period--unless you glued your cord into the handle. The device comes without any cord at all. Blades are quick and fast. Very satisfying from that standpoint. As to safety--not really. It's very lightweight, which is excellent for moving around the shrubs and shaping. You could do some seriously creative topiary with this tool. But that flexibility means you have to be extremely careful, since you could hack off a pinkie finger easily in one-handed maneuvering. The guard plate screws in, so it can't fall off. But it's a flimsy little thing that doesn't prevent contact between hands and blade as you're moving the lightweight tool quickly through the spaces around the shrub. A mitten-type guard protects my hand on my chainsaw. And also, unlike my battery-powered chainsaw, there is no retractible bladeguard on the B&D hedger. (That would bump up the price too, probably.) I guess you just have to stay alert. I wouldn't recommend sending a teenager out with it or trimming the hedges after you've had a few G&Ts. Overall I am pleased with this tool despite the many caveats. I have struggled with the combination of heavy manual snippers and arthritis pain that follows for years. This tool is great for being lightweight, fast, and easy on my joints.

The larger trimmers are too large for me to handle . This one is just right . Not expensive but gets the job done .

This is a great little tool for quick cleanup of hedges and shrubs. Also good for dead heading flowers. It is light weight and easy to work in small spaces.

I couldn’t be happier with this BLACK+DECKER Electric Hedge Trimmer—it’s easily one of the best yard tools I’ve purchased. Right out of the box, it was lightweight, easy to assemble, and felt very comfortable to hold. The design is well-balanced, so even after extended use, my arms didn’t feel fatigued. The grip is ergonomic and secure, which made trimming both safer and more precise. Performance-wise, this trimmer is impressive. It cuts through thick branches and overgrown hedges smoothly without bogging down. The blade is sharp and efficient, giving clean, even cuts that really make a difference in how polished my yard looks. I also love that it’s electric—no dealing with gas, fumes, or complicated maintenance. Just plug it in and go. It starts instantly every time, and it’s much quieter than gas-powered alternatives. Another big plus is how maneuverable it is. I was able to shape my hedges exactly how I wanted, even in tighter or awkward spots around the yard.

I bought this trimmer specifically to trim a very tall, fast-growing bush in my yard. Heretofore, I used shears, but cutting the top centre of the bush was tough and dangerous, for if I fell off the ladder and into the bush, it was likely I would need help extricating myself from the many thorns on the bush. Might have required a 911 rescue. As soon as I unpackaged this trimmer, I stood on my ladder and waved it above the bush simulating that I was trimming the bush. I wanted to see if the 16" blade had enough reach to safely do the entire top of the bush. It did. Then I plugged it in and tested it. It cut very well. In addition to having a blade long enough to reach the entire top of the bush, I wanted a trimmer that was light enough to use holding it in one hand, for when I am trimming the top of the bush, one hand is holding the ladder. This unit is light enough to use with one hand. I am impressed with the job this trimmer does. I am able to give the top of the bush a nice flattop and the sides are trim and even. As I noted, the bush grows quickly, so I need to trim it once a week to keep it looking tidy. I should have used a trimmer long ago on this bush as it does it faster, safer and better than I can do with shears. Though I only use this trimmer for one bush, the trimmer is worth it for the reasons above and because the bush is in a highly-visible place in my yard, and it looks so much better when its trimmed. The trimmer switched on acts like a fan as it blows cool air in the direction of the user. This bonus is most welcomed when trimming on hot days. I recommend this trimmer as the price is reasonable, it cuts very well and makes the work much easier. Do note that this is a corded trimmer, so don't forget to have an extension cord.

I’m really happy with this hedge trimmer so far! It works incredibly well for cutting back all the overgrown foliage in my yard and has made fall cleanup so much easier. It cuts through thick flowers, shrubs, and other vegetation with ease. It’s easy to use, gets the job done quickly, and has saved me a lot of time and effort. So far, I’m very impressed with its performance and would definitely recommend it!
