Birkenstock Gizeh Unisex Leather Sandals

I have worn these manydays now. And let me tell you: THEY ARE LIFE SAVERS! They do fit as expected, very hard sole asn shoe in general. I am very used to flip flops so I can say that the toe is a bit of an issue for the first year but by the end of the second day, I had zero issues at all (didn't have big ones to begin with, just felt hard, that's it) The sole really start acommadating your foot really fast and the feel of the leather suede is AMAZING, I don't have much of an arch so this shoe really bugged me from there the first two days but in the end it will be good for posture, feet, etc and after two days I really don't feel anything but support in everysingle inch of my foot. I used them a day after going to a club, they saved my hurting feet, I am so bumed I can't wear them everyday to work :(. So after having these for a few days, I did go a SIZE down. I am a solid 7 in sandals, pumps, flip flops, etc. and a soid 7.5 in tennis shows, I bought the 37 regular, they fit great, my toes have room in the front and my heel has room in the back, you really really need to try these on in a store or really know your feet to perfection, trust me go a size down. Soooo, once your feet get used to the footbed you will be in feet heaven, really really a great investment shoe wise. The color is a deep wine burgundy, wayyy darker than the image (BETTER, I love darker color just a pop od differente) So for me that was a big plus. I am beyond happy!! So: No toe issue, great fit, they run a size big (go down 1 size), great leather, great footbed,

The Birkenstock are very comfortable

These sandals last me years, the style is versatile so I use them for day time with jeans or shorts or night time with a summer dress. Size is true to fit for US sizes shoes. Color goes with most neutrals. The more they get worn in to the shape of your foot, the better the cushioning.

With chronic back pain, flat sandals or flip flops are just not an option for me. The rest of the year I wear Doc Martens, and needed a summer solution. I LOVE these sandals. They are super cute and so comfortable. I could walk around the city for hours without a second thought. Cleaning them does not thrill me, what with them being a porous material, but that comes with the territory. Also I am a solid 9 in women's shoes, therefore I got a size 39 in these sandals. If I could go back I would probably get one a SMIDGE smaller. They do fit but because they have specific spots for your toes, arch and heel, smaller would have been better. My boss wears a 37 and hers fit me well too (how many times have I slipped hers on by accident). My advice is don't go crazy sizing down but they do run a little bit big. So in recap as a 9 in women's- I got a 39, 37 fits but 38 would fit perfectly. They are expensive but worth it in my opinion. When mine are past their prime I will definitely repurchase Birkenstocks again.

These have saved my feet! I have heel spurs, knee problems, lower back...you know, the domino effect. Wear the right shoes and it will fix all the pain that radiates upward through your body. I have since bought a couple more colors and have not been disappointed in the style. Cute while being practical. My foot is normal width but I have a very short baby toe that always goes off the side of sandals, but these are perfect. I normally wear a 38/7.5, but in these I wear a 37. I am a research hound always looking for the shoe with the "right" support. I read all the reviews and go into stores to test the support. I know instantly when I put on the right shoe. My other favorites: Dansko, Mephisto, Earthies, Orthaheel, and the OrthoSleeve FS6 Compression Foot Sleeve. I even have a personalized orthotics made by a doctor, but prefer these Birkenstock or the OrthoSleeve over the orthotics. I am considered the family expert because I do so much research, but I always tell my family that it's not one shoe made for all, and every style within a brand can be different also. It's all subjective. My bother has for years sworn by Birkenstock, my sister for years has been Mephisto, and mine was Dansko. I now wear all 3 faithfully, but will choose Birkenstock over Mephisto. I must also tell you that years ago I couldn't wear the Birkenstock or Mephisto, The arch seemed to high. So be aware that your foot and needs change and know that you can rely on the reputation of a shoe that's been around forever.

Still breaking these in because I don't wear them frequently enough yet. They are still comfortable, tho. I did feel that discomfort at the thong like most others but I took the advice of wearing them around the house for a while before hitting the streets. I still feel it a little when I put them on every time but then I don't notice it after a while. I've walked in these for long distances and not had any problems. These are my first pair of Birkenstocks and when I slipped my feet into them the first time I felt as if I'd gone down one floor on an elevator. This is because I am used to Fit Flops and they are thicker soled. But they're okay. I can't say I'm as taken with them as some reviewers because I don't feel compelled to wear them all the time. Maybe because I don't have issues with my feet. I like walking and I wear this type of shoe almost exclusively. I liked this colour and I couldn't see myself easily buying anything but these in this colour because they just seem to fit into my everyday wear (which is jeans/casual pants) quite easily. I feel compelled to add (although many have before me) how the sizing varies. I wear size 11M (female) but in these I bought a regular 41 and they were a perfect fit. Just saying, it's advisable to go down one size for a perfect fit. Thanks to everyone who has provided this information in their reviews; it is especially useful for those of us who have no other option but to buy online, and for whom returns are inconvenient and costly.

I was previously a Crocs addict (I have several pairs of their ballet flats) but kept seeing these Gizehs around town and finally decided to invest in my first pair of Birkenstocks a year ago. I am a size 6-6.5 and went with the 36 because the recommended 37s were too big when I tried them on in the store. I had to ease into wearing these when I first got them (short walks for the first few wears) until my feet got used to the shape of the shoes, and even noticed that my feet needed an adjustment period after they came back out of storage this spring. But now my feet have been spoiled and my previous go-to Crocs feel inadequate for all the walking I do. As an urban mom of 2, I walk 2-5 miles a day and need the arch and heel support. The only gripe I have with these Gizehs is I can't run or even walk very fast in them because that toe thong jams between my toes and hurts. As for the looks, they're certainly cuter than the traditional Birks but they still give me hobbit feet. I ordered the silver for something a bit different and dressier, but now I wish I had ordered a tan or brown leather because with shoes this clunky, I think I'd rather they just blend in. On the plus side, the Birko-Flor synthetic leather had no break-in period and looks brand new despite the miles I've put on them. Hope this is helpful!

I was hesitant to ever try Birkenstock, but the fashionable look of this shoe opened my mind. I ordered a variety of sizes and widths to find my perfect fit and once I did, my feet fell in love! I wore them all day straight for 2 days. I did notice a little soreness on the side of my foot (I think b/c these shoes do not allow my foot to pronate) but after 1 day of rest from the shoe, my foot felt fine. I was back to wearing them all day, every day, and have not taken them off since! No blisters, just bliss! My normal size is a 6.5 and I do wear a 36 in Dansko clogs, but I found that with this style of shoe going down a size to 35 felt best. I also ordered a narrow which I felt fit much better than the standard width. (I could not find narrows in department stores or shoe stores, so I had to purchase from Amazon.) I highly recommend this shoe. I just wish Birkenstock would come up with something just as cute for winter!

Wow! Firstly - thank you Amazon for the superfast delivery - 36 hours from ordering to wearing them!!! Secondly, these Birkenstocks are my second pair - and the only toe posts I can wear without thinking of any rubbing anywhere. Very well made and extremely comfortable and durable. They come up a size larger than other shoes so I ordered a size 4 when I am normally a 5 or 6. Two widths are handy too. Brilliant every time.

Passt perfekt. Größenmäßig genau wie erwartet. Nicht größer oder kleiner als normal. Die schmale Passform ist super. Auf jeden Fall weiterzuempfehlen.

Une tong qui fait la différence : possibilité de marcher longtemps avec sans douleur ni même entre les orteils ! Je recommande vivement! Surtout avec de belles couleurs vives! Durée de vie dans notre famille : deux étés sans jardinage (ça craque la semelle quand on se met trop souvent accroupi)
