Design failure
The concept is good but there is a design fault or failure. The black container that hold the plant/soil is short. The white container that holds the water is too deep. The plant should be housed in a 2/3 container rather than a halfway pot, which it will outgrow in little time.

These Mkono Self-watering planters are fabulous! 5 STARS!
I have no idea why it's only me who has discovered this wonderfully affordable system of not having to water my house plants all the time. However the instructions are very sparse. I made a mistake in thinking that my plants go into the pots within their pots. And that was difficult because in the UK all pots have a ridge at the top, which means they don't fit! We had to saw off the ridge!I've just today looked at the planters again and have realised that I have to put the thick cotton threads that suck up the water in the bottom part of the outer pot into the two holes made in the inner pot and let them dangle in the outer pot. And then its better to first put a thin layer of pot shards, or substrate, or pumice at the bottom of the inner pot and then fresh sterilized potting earth. Then remove the perhaps diseased earth from the plant's roots and plant it in the inner pot. Press the fresh earth around the plant firmly. Put the inner pot into the outer pot and water it well, so that the space under the inner pot is filled with water. Wait a day for the thick cotton threads to soak up the water and then the plant in the inner pot can start sucking up the water! Please ask if you haven't understood! I bought three of the L large ones and already have 6 of the M medium ones! My windowsills are full up with my easy peasy garden of herbs, flowers and will start growing vegetables after sowing in April.

Look expensive, good value for money
Great looking pots, sturdy and strong, my plants are thriving indoors on a windowsill (see pic), I am a complete novice. Fantastic self watering, I check water daily as some plants are more thirsty than others, I use a little plant food every couple weeks too. Would highly recommend to others. I would love these pots to come in more sizes. Thank you

Plants love them
I am slowly repotting all my houseplants into these pots. Everything from my orchid to my aloe vera is thriving. Not the cheapest self waterting pots I've bought but by far the best for growing wonderfully healthy plants.edited to add that a year on I have a remarkably thriving collection of orchids, all in these pots. I attribute my success to these pots and distilled water. Worth every penny - especially since I re-pot a newly bought orchid straight into one of these pots. They don't need repotting again for at leat 3 years

worth the price but only use small plants
Very good for the price and despite not having an indicator you can tell easily enough by the noise the water makes as it fills the bottom. My only gripe is the internal pot is a lot smaller than you'd think, so unless it's a shallow root plant you'll find that even transferring a normal small pot you get when you buy plants is too big and the plant will stick over the top (and so water rolls off).

Really nice pots
I purchased the large size pack of 3.. great value for money.i got them to switch some plants into lecuza pon substrate so once I'd removed all the old soil from the root system they fitted in nicely...i don't know how they would do for soil substrate I'd be worried they may stay too wet and they get root rotiam very happy with my purchase and will order again as I've over 60 plants to switch.. 💚🤣

The size..
It is misleading to photo these posts in this way , it suggests hat you are offering a set of 3 differently sized pots; more useful surely to give at least ohne dimension. Other than that I have no complaints

About time someone made these
I really like these. When we have been away before I have put a pot of water and string by each plant but now this does it for me all the time, watering the plants through the string inside. Great and looks good too.
