Great Value
My 9 yr old Asus was needing replaced. I was able to extend its life with a SSD to help increase speed but it was time. As some of my photoshop work became a bit more demanding. But I really wanted another Asus since mine had proven itself so durable. The value you get with this laptop is great.I really like everything about it, so i'll hit the items I don't.- The track pad is a bit clunky at time, Its almost too big. I have to reach pretty far with my thumb to hit the left click. Also it feels like it sticks a bit.- The SD card slot - the SD card sticks out, it doesn't fully go into the computer. This makes it susceptible to getting bumped and disconnects, hopefully someday I don't lose images.- I generally leave my laptop plugged in all day, seldom moving. I was able to keep the battery on my old laptop in good shape by removing it and only using it for travel. Can't do that with this one. I anticipate the battery will need replaced many times over because of this.- I wish it had a CD write drive, but getting an external one wasn't a big deal. I knew this before i bought the computer. So not necessarily a product issue.I did upgrade the 1TB drive with a 1TB SSD. Wasn't really needed but I had one already so it made sense. Getting to it was a bit challenging but I understand that's the case with most new computers. Old laptops had access doors this one I had to lift up the keyboard to get to it.Bottom line this is a great computer though! when compared to what is available now a days.

I am happy with my purchase so far
I have had this computer for 2 weeks now and am quite happy with it so far. My needs are mostly things that could be done by a Chromebook but I do development and need to be able to install a stack that could use some firepower. It has done the job here s far. I don't play games so I can't help you there. With the 128gb SSD drive and a full 1 TB of storage I am more than satisfied. No laptop will meet every need unless you have deep pockets. My biggest complaint is the trackpad: sometimes it is sensitive. Sometimes it freezes up. A $12 mouse gets me around this problem.. The system is snappy. The bloatware is not that bloated and I removed it easily. The ASUS Ecosystem' software is a bit kludgey but I didn't buy it for that. I like the keyboard. The screen is bright. The unit is light. It has the ports I need. The quality and feel is fine - and the price for a 17 inch screen is great in my book.I am sure as I live with it longer I can find things to complain about but right now I am happy with my purchase.

no value
This computer is very expensive for how incredibly cheap it is. There is no caps light to see if it's on, which is just dumb at this price point. I've already had other issues with cheap components in this computer. Stay far far away from this

Am very pleased with the rapid boot
This Asus laptop is mostly what I expected. The solid state C: drive, however, is really too small. I've loaded most of the software I had on my former Dell Inspiron (piece of junk), and I'm already at 70% capacity. Have to install some programs on the D: drive instead. And I replaced the Win10 Home with Win10 Pro OS. Am very pleased with the rapid boot . . . usually at the login screen within 30 seconds . . . compared to the Dell which could take up to four minutes or longer sometimes. I just wish the touchpads that nearly all laptops come with today did not have the "integrated" mouse buttons that don't always respond appropriately.

This laptop is FAST!
Well, Ive had it for a couple months now........and its really quite solid! Its for sure the fastest laptop Ive ever owned. It blows away my Macbook Pro 17". The lit keyboard is nicely designed, the keys have good feel to them. The only cons are: She can get hot if you push it, but the fans kick in and hold down the temps. Don't think Id buy it for a gaming laptop. And I had to do some tweeking on the display to get it how I wanted it. Also, I was going to add another 8 of memory.............BUT CANT. You'd have to crack the case to get to it.........so I just left it. Don't get me wrong, it runs insanely fast with 8 RAM............but I always want to upgrade things. So if you want 16 of RAM, you'd better just buy the more expensive one that already has it.

Well just arrived sort of late but not that much ...
Well just arrived sort of late but not that much!Just a surprise when I happened to see that the keyboard was not AZERTY but QWERTY:!And that I needed to learn hoz to find a @ using internetHad I known that; I should not have engaged more than 1000 euros for a PC which has a canadian keyboard neither disk reader !I bought already at least 10 computers in 10 years ( from many websites) but never happened to buy one wth a qwerty keyboardAt least this should be advertised for the customers to be aware!!

WiFi disconnects; sent for repair multiple times for same issue
UPDATE 2: Looks like they finally fixed it by swapping out the motherboard. It's functioning properly now, though it's left a bad impression on me that it took them multiple attempts to resolve, with a total of almost 3 weeks altogether of no pc with the multiple repair attempts. Bumping review to 2 stars, but I have lost confidence in them for future purchase.Original review and first update follow.——————————UPDATE: Back again from Asus repair center and the issue is still there. It’s like they replace the parts and don’t bother to test if it actually works. Is there a lemon law? AVOID at all costs!!! 0 stars.——————————Constant WiFi disconnects. Sent it back to Asus twice already. It’s under repair on its second trip now. Otherwise it’s a great machine, but if you can’t reliably get on the internet, you failed at the most basic use case. I’ll update my review accordingly if they ever actually fix the issue.

Size, speed, storage drives.
So far it is everything that I hoped it would be. Great speed and graphics. It’s big and you need to get adjusted to its size in carrying it around. Definitely buy a carrying case of some type. I bought a skin which is perfect. Not a laptop for use on a plane! Love the two hard drives. The only negative is NO VGA PORT and NO DVD PLAYER, but you can buy one that’s not expensive. Has Bluetooth for connectivity with Smart TV. Light for its size. My second ASUS laptop. First is eight years old still working well, just too slow. Time will tell about it’s long term performance.

Very light, thin profile.
Very stable, it is fast. I changed out the hybrid drive and added a second SSD. The keyboard surface is small due to a large area for the on board mouse-pad. I don't use the pad, I use a wireless mouse. Smaller number pad keys-I have big hands. Came with 8G mem-would have liked 12 or 16G mem.
