E1 ENTERTAINMENTKrazy KAT KARTOON KOLLECTION, The
T**.
Needed better correspondence with George Herriman's work.
This cartoon series provides some insight into the classic comic strip. Unfortunately, the art isn't nearly as interesting, and story lines don't appear to follow the strip. More particularly, I wondered, given that the latter ended in 1944, if a helicopter or jet plane ever appeared in George Herriman's much celebrated work.

It was a lot of fun to watch the whole series
It was a lot of fun to watch the whole series. I remembered watching as a kid and saying to myself-"this is just so wonderfully bizarre!" Trees in flower pots! I did not rate it as a five because I felt (like almost all cartoons, shows etc) it became a bit to predictable and redundant and lost a sense of originality. Yet, still glad to have seen the series in its entirety.

Comedically uninspired and visually bland 1960s mashup of Tom and Jerry & Ren and Stimpy
I did not grow up with this series, so I'm afraid I don't have the built-in affection of the other reviewers. I've never seen the orignal comic strip.Taken on its own, the series is somwehet reminiscent of the late 60s DePatie–Freleng Pink Panther series, featuring cheap, simplistic animation and design coupled with generally uninspired attempts at goofy antagonistic slapstick that Tom and Jerry would have quickly discarded on the cutting room floor. On the plus side, the two lead characters are a bit unique - a surly and callous male mouse (Ignatz) and a dopey, naive female cat (the titular Krazy Kat) who is inexplicably in love with him. Their semi-abusive relationship seems like a forerunner of Ren and Stimpy, but without the clever gags and outlandish scenarios.Judging by the other reviews, the series clearly holds up for longtime fans, but it doesn't have much to offer adults more familiar with the likes of cleverer shows like Looney Tunes. Tom and Jerry, Bullwinkle, etc. Young kids may enjoy the simole slapstick, but Ignatz's generally mean-spirited treatment of Krazy Kat, although nothing severe, may give some parents pause.

Krazy for Krazy !
Still reading about half thru - love it ! Intelligent & we'll written - gives a picture of the early years of cartoonists & their experiences developing characters & strips - a surprising in depth story of George Herriman's long artistic development - and the evolution that became our lovable Krazy Kat

Big Fan of this cartoon
I can remember back when I was a kid, coming home from school, and chilling in front of the television watching krazy kat, snuffy smith and the likes.I mean what kind of a person could actually imagine creating a charachter (krazy kat), in deep passionate love with a mouse (ignatz)? Aren't cats supposed to eat mice, lol....Now if I can just find that snuffy smith dvd, I could add it to my collection :).

Krazy Kat DVD collection
What can I say about Krazy Kat? The cartoon series is a warm memory from my childhood, filled with all the craziness and obsurdities that made the comic strip so memorable. The animation captures the basic feel of the classic strip and though the stories may be silly, they work. I highly recommend this collection, my only regret is that I didn't have it sooner.
